Federal agents took an illegal immigrant to Grant Medical Center in October 2009 to collect proof of his ties to a Mexican-based drug ring. During his two-day hospital stay, Jose Aranda-Mora supplied the needed evidence - 92 balloons of heroin that he had swallowed before a traffic stop in Richland County.

Three months earlier, immigration agents had deported Mora to his homeland of Mexico. But the free ride home served as no deterrent. Since 2000, Mora has been deported four times, only to return time and again - most recently to Ohio. A Dispatch investigation revealed that it is common..

They're coming back because there is sooo much money for them to be made both as mules and in business working under the table. It's time to make the penalties for business owners who hire illegals steep enough to discourage them from making the hires in the first place.

Yes, let's penalize business because the government won't do its Constitutionally mandated duty.
Business already has to act as a federal tax collector, FICA and FUTA collector, insurance provider so lets throw yet another federally abrogated responsibility on business.

Don't you continually maintain that business should be less regulated by the government?
As an employer I have to maintain an I-9, a W-4, provide a W-2 for every employee and thanks to the HCR, provide a 1099 to every business that I spend over $600, you want to add more crap?

Thanks, but I don't need that kind of help.
