View Full Version : COMICS: Marvel Is Making Plans to Kill More Characters

Due to the success they had in killing off The Human Torch in Fantastic Four, Senior Vice President of sales at Marvel Comics David Gabriel announced that Marvel is planning to kill a major character every quarter. He also added "this is not a joke."

From Bleeding Cool...

Gabriel did however specify that these storylines are NOT about killing characters. What’s key is what comes AFTER the deaths. For example, after the Human Torch death, Spidey joined the team and the concept of “FF” got an entirely new focus as Future Foundation.

For those who are not aware, Marvel did replace The Human Torch with Spider-man.

um...sounds like Marvel is trying to copy DC without going SciFi about it with the Crisis and it's aftermath

Not so sure about them. I've never ben a huge fan of them, so didn't follow their exploits to much.

They all were at one time. The Thing was the first, part of the West Coast Avengers recruits when they first formed. The rest followed in "Post-Inferno".

Spider-man tends to be more a loner - per-say. But he has worked with others in the past. The Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic 4 in the past. In a way a comic geek I work with said it made since as both Fan. 4 and Spider-man both groups are in NY, so its kinda uniting since they both are there.

But with all that, with them talking about who else to kill. I'll drop a buck on one of the X-men being next to die.

Bumping a few of them off would be doing the series a favor I bet.

Yea, for example, X-23 is a female clone of Wolverine.

Thou interesting, do you really need two x-men with the same powers and mentality?

They did. And in true comic fashion, he came back. After Marvel f-ed up Spider-Man, they should just kill Peter Parker and bring back Ben Reilly.

The series called One More Day and Brand New Day. It was those story arcs that made me stop getting Marvel comics all together.
