Watching the traitors in the Dim convention, I decided that I would cook a porterhouse steak with mushrooms and onions with a baked potato smothered in butter and sour cream!!
Better than halal.

Take potatos and stab with fork numerous times on both sides. Microwave untill soft in the center, about 12 minutes.

Butter is OK, I used as much as I wanted, use accordingly!
Pre heat oven to 375 degrees

Saute 1 onion sliced in butter, stirring till brown, about 8 minutes
Saute sliced baby portobello mushroom in butter, stirring till shrunk about 5 minutes, add 1 TBSP minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
Towards the end of each cooking time , season with S&P

Season porter house steak with S&P and brown in butter 2 minutes each side
put pan in pre-heated oven for 6 minutes for med rare. Chow down and feel like an American!!

You have gotta smile at this!

It looks yummy! Steak with mushrooms and onions! There's magic in that combination!

Yummm!! (except I like my steak medium well!). Did you eat the whole porterhouse?

Sounds like my Saturday night dinner....NY strip; peas; baked potato. Bananas Foster for dessert!

Patriot I love you, I am going to try this tomorow. Steak, with a sour cream dip, potato, mushrooms and onion...

Paramedics had to revive me half way through this post.

Wow, looks delicious! But 1 question... those look like Crimini mushrooms rather than portobello, which tend to have much thinner and flatter caps than it looks like in the picture. I love Crimini 'shrooms, and use them all the time (great when mixed into scrambled eggs, along with some green onions).

I will be trying that out on my son.You really ought to just stick to the recipe. It calls for Porterhouse which should be much tastier plus it won't get you into any trouble with the law!
