SEATTLE (Reuters) - Oregon Emergency Management on Friday advised coastal residents to evacuate before 7 a.m. local time due to the risk of a tsunami.
The massive 8.9 magnitude quake in Japan triggered tsunami warnings for most of the Pacific basin, including northern California and Oregon.

That would be about 10am EST. What has happened? I remember a number of years ago a pacific quake was supposed to trigger a tsunami onto Oregon. never happened. I can't help but think that this earthquake/tsunami science is not at all predictable by man or event.

Seems like a reasonable precaution.
My wife is in San Franscisco this week. I just called her and joked that of all the natural disasters that could have befallen during a trip to California, how high was tsunami on the list?

An eight foot seismic shift, one of the ocean plates dropped. I have said it before, screw the "power of Man", nature makes us all look like a five year old kid with a slingshot
