You know, it never occurred to me, but in a way you might be right.

This was a Winn Dixie on the wrong side of town that went out of business. It's reopened as a bargain store. It would be a perfect front. They fixed it up really nice though.

my father in law asked me when I got mine why...I told him for self defense and he looked at me and asked "why?" I just told him because I can :D

Why own a gun?

Because I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it...

They're kind of fun to shoot too.

Hunting, want, and home defense, mostly in that order.

Because nothing says "rob someone else" like an open carried sidearm.

An armed society is a polite society. Case in point, how come you never hear of a Columbine style shooting at a biker bar? Or at a bar frequented by off duty police? One of the funniest movie scenes of all time was from a movie called Code of Silence which starred Chuck Norris. In it, 2 idiots decided to knock over a bar, not knowing that the one they picked was a hang out for the local precinct. They casually went in and split up then one pulled a gun announcing it was a hold up. Before the words were out of his mouth, every one of the about 15 people in the bar drew down on them. Here it is:

Anyhoo, I don't care who you are. You can have a .22 cal with 1 bullet in the chamber and surrounded by 10 thugs, there isn't going to be one in that 10 who's going to want to take that bullet for anyone.

Because the son of a bitch sneaking into my house late at night probably owns one.

Convicted felons can't own guns. Here or in the US.

Besides the many other valid reasons listed already, I would own a gun to piss off a liberal.

I saw it on a bumpersticker once."I would rather be tried by twelve than carried by six.

Is it owned by middle easterners? In Detroit it is well known that the arab merchants are armed to the teeth and difficult to rob. I was at a neighborhood store once when the owner came by to pick up money from the safe for the bank deposit. He came in escorted by two guys, who had semi-concealed large guns in holsters. As I don't know much about guns, I can't tell you what kind they were other than they were handguns. The rumor in Detroit is that they all keep AK-47s under the counter, but I'm not so sure I believe that one, because every small store and gas station in Detroit has bullet proof glass between the customers and employees.
