I guess this could go under weather as well, but I'm sure the Tin Hatters will be forecasting global Tsunami.

March 16, 2011: Mark your calendar. On March 19th, a full Moon of rare size and beauty will rise in the east at sunset. It's a super "perigee moon"--the biggest in almost 20 years.

"The last full Moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March of 1993," says Geoff Chester of the US Naval Observatory in Washington DC. "I'd say it's worth a look."

It looks great, glad we have a clear night, I usually miss these astronomic happenings through cloud cover.

The last thing that I remember last night was looking at the full moon. This morning, I woke up in my front yard with a mouthful of chicken feathers and a serious urge to scratch behind my ear with my foot. WTF? :D

Moonrise is 7:37 MST so we're still a ways out from it. The skies are partly cloudy but nothing major. :)

It's a nice full moon but not extra nice, visually at least. One of my dogs stole a raw chicken wing this afternoon so that could have been a malicious Moon influence of some kind. I also lost a mop cover somehow but that was probably more Satanic.

Just before her bedtime, I brought my 7-year-old out to look at it after explaining the difference between an ellipse and a circle to her. She was entranced by it.

I took my girls outside and took pictures of them with the moon and explained how the next one wouldn't happen again until they were in their twenties.
