We had no Day thread today (Shannon, I hold you personally accountable on that one), so we're going to have a Friday Night thread.

While I can't recreate our previous versions of this (and many would say that's a good thing), what's up? What are you drinking, doing, listening to, or mulling over? What suppressed whiny ideas are you contemplating? What did you do today? Tell all.

I did a bunch of budget stuff and I cleaned the house to prep for my non-house activities tomorrow. I'm listening to nothing and drinking Fat Tire. I believe that my cat wants to kill me and I have credible evidence.

And you?

It was Jen. I cut her a lot of slack. Bubba, on the other hand, is starting off in a very bad way.

Oh, and I'm about 50 pages from finishing the Pine Deep Trilogy.

You will love it but not necessarily the author's postscript. Mr. Snaps is reading the trilogy now. I'm rereading 'Cry To Heaven" before dipping into the next Kushiel novel.

My cat is now stalking me. Malevolently. :(

I have a cat that stalks me too. Malevolently.

I'm going to stay up all night to finish reading this book. Did you read the latest Odd Thomas book yet?

I am trying to figure out how to copy an image onto CU. I have a MAC so there's no easy way, I don't think. I just got my credit card bill :eek:

But otherwise am doing ok. ()

Really. :)

A lot of us use Tiny Pic. Right click on the image and save it then go to Tiny Pic and browse your files. Copy it and paste here - it should work fine.

Yes, just type in Tiny Pic. It will instantly search your pic file if you have a PC - I don't how it handles Mac files.

My daughter just got back form some Jack Black movie with a panda..

We are planning a birthday party for my granddaughter tomorrow. She will be 3. We are finally going in the pool and had to get the slide ready because she said "I NEED to do that".

Made fried eggs and sausage biscuits for dinner and am sooooooo sleepy. I was waiting for Saturday Night Live to come on and realized it was Friday.

I wish I had a few sausage biscuits. I mainly ate cheese tonight. I don't cook on Fridays but sadly, nobody else does either. :D

Just Finished this one ,While sipping several Courvoisier and soda's !

The 13 Best Horror Stories of All Time,
(Edgar Allan Poe, J. Sheridan Le Fanu, Bram Stoker) to the first half of the 20th (M.R. James, H.P. Lovecraft, Shirley Jackson).
For those new to horror literature wanting to sample some of the classic shorter works of the genre, this is an excellent starting point.

Introduction:
The Tell-Tale Heart,Green Tea, The Yellow Wallpaper , The Bottle Imp ,The Great God Pan , Dracula's Guest , The Monkey's Paw, Oh, Whistle and I'll Come to You, My Lad ,The Country of the Blind ,The Willows ,The Beckoning Fair One ,The Call of Cthulhu, The Lottery ,but No Carmella !

About J Sheridan Le Fanu,
Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu has been the inspiration and motive force behind a great deal of modern horror literature; his tales of horror inspired Bram Stoker to write Dracula; it was the custom, according to Henry James, for Victorian hosts to place a volume of his stories on a guest's bedside table for 'the hours after midnight'; and M R James, the famous ghost story teller, considered him 'absolutely in the front rank' as a supernatural writer. Yet in modern times Le Fanu has been unaccountably ignored.

I am re-reading Crust & crumb and The Bread Baker's Apprentice ,Hannibal Rising,Nature girl is next and followed by When the Almond Tree Blossoms !

And I need new glasses !!

Trying to put back together the pieces of my heart that were broken when I learned some news on Thursday night. It's not been a great weekend so far.
