In case you can't see the sign well, it says, "Republican proposal for middle class tax loophole" and the pic is a hangman's noose.

As was pointed out on another board, the NAACP will surely be all over this hateful image. Any time now, it'll make big news and Sharpton will be dissing the protestors and teacher's union. Any time now...

Reality is that the left is cutting budgets where they know it will piss people off the most.

Every teacher and teachers aid in my district got pink slipped this week because proposed budget cuts will require cut backs. So do the people in charge propose cutting back on bureaucrats or the athletic director that makes 150K a year? nope. Do they propose consolidating office workers and reducing expenditures on pensions or healthcare? Nope. They pink slip all the teachers because they know that they have to cut several teachers from the staff - but are not sure how many and our contract requires that we get so much notice before the end of the year if we're going to be down staffed. This - of course - is also done because this move is going to - and has - made parents irate and demanding action which of course will result in higher taxes on the few homeowners left in the area. Most of the districts parents are in section 8 housing.

Agreed. Like Obama not paying the military in the event of a government shutdown, but keeping welfare going. Somebody needs to point out to these clowns, in public, on camera, that the things that they want to fund are secondary, while the things that they cut are primary responsibilities of government. Defense and public safety are primary. Welfare, food stamps, grants for cowboy poetry, etc., are secondary (if that).

He was ready to try and piss off the conservative base while protecting and pandering to his base. Of course the press didn't bother to point that out now did they.

It was actually more calculated than that. He wanted a narrative that Republicans were starving the military, but nobody fell for it.

Yes damn THE LEFT.

Do you mean the left that's been out protesting against cutting workers and teachers? Or are you talking about the left that's been calling for reforming education funding?

The left that keeps raising entitlement and who are creating an entitlement society where people refuse to take responsibility for their own actions and choices. The left that thinks they should be given something out of my pocket just because they feel they deserve it.

Real education reform would be allowing vouchers, disbanding teachers unions, returning accountability and responsibility to the classroom especially on the part of the students, ending programs that require all schools to accommodate every little issue a kid might have that comes along, and untying teachers hands so we can return discipline to the class room as well. Your kid has food allergies and cannot be around peanuts at all - well then you cyber school your kid because it's unfuckingreasonable to ask a cash strapped school district to install sinks in every fucking class room and require every fucking person in the building to wash their hands constantly because they might have come into contact with something that MIGHT have peanuts in it.

so YES. Damn the fucking left.

That's right, the left that has fought against cutting unproductive government agencies, and has politicized the education establishment, to the detriment of students and parents. The left that considers tax hikes and unsustainable spending increases to be "reform." That left.
