The Obama administration has photographs of Osama bin Laden’s dead body and officials are debating what to do with them and whether they should be released to the public, officials tell ABC News.

The argument against releasing the pictures: they’re gruesome. He has a massive head wound above his left eye where he took bullet, with brains and blood visible.

“There’s no doubt it’s him,” says a US official who has seen the pictures and also reminds us that OBL was 6’4”....The argument for releasing them: to ensure that the public knows and can appreciate that he's dead. There is of course skepticism throughout the world that the US government claim that it killed bin Laden is true.

In July 2003, the US government released photographs of Saddam Hussein’s dead sons Uday and Qusay Hussain but not until after they’d been touched up by a mortician, making them look not quite real.

Release them and cast away any doubt he's dead.

Sounds like the same thing they did with those eight Russian sailors they recovered from the Soviet Golf with the Glomar Explorer .

If they don't release them, someone will leak them to the press anyways. FDOC didn't want to release photos of Ted Bundy's body after he got fried, but the Enquirer still managed to find and publish them. They were pretty gruesome.

Hell, even Czarist Russia released the photos of Rasputin's dead body. They were pretty nasty, too, considering he'd been poisoned, shot, and finally expired from drowning after the assassins threw him into the Neva while he was technically still alive.

So ABC can get "exclusive" pics form inside the house but no one can seem to release the pics of this scumbag after he got killed?

WTF??

Don't some of these muslim extremists parade dead bodies or "martyrs?" Couldn't they do the same thing with the pictures?

I would like to see them. On the other hand, it will inflame the crazies to kill more infidels.

I would post them online for the whole world to see what happens
when you jack with the USA. And also as proof that he's dead.
There is one on Google Images now, but to me it looks Photoshopped.

They hold up pictures and make a big long funeral procession for their dead terrorist brethren.

The WH is delaying this much too long. Even SkyNews is demanding "proof" meaning pictures.

Release the damn pictures. Quit worrying about the reaction from the Muslim world and show everyone that Osama is actually dead.
