Sadly that's true, why he moved from Jersey to Florida, then from St Louis to Florida. He didn't like the snow. It's very weird, because he seemed to cope with it very well in St Louis, in fact too well. He continued to wear shorts no matter the temp. The neighbors probably gossiped about it. But then they talked about everything.

There is a guy in Oshkosh I know that moved there from California. He always wears shorts. I remember visiting the area a few years ago and it was sub 20's with Lake Winnebago half frozen. He walked around in shorts and a t-shirt while I was bundled and shivering.

Weirdo.

I turned down a significant scholarship to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa because it was so unbelievably cold when I visited. I had on a shirt, sweatshirt and heavy winter coat while they were running around in shorts and sweatshirts.

SR even ran out to get the mail barefoot. Luckily it was a short driveway but I couldn't believe those tracks in the snow.

Some people like to show off. :D

A friend who lived in Chicago said that when his daughter started getting catalogues from prospective colleges, she would flip through them quickly and if she saw any pictures with snow in them, she threw them away.

The last time I wore long pants was to a wedding in 2009.

I like wearing shorts and no shirt as often as possible. I won't stay outside in freezing temps that way but I will run out to the truck to get my smokes or something without getting dressed. My wife on the other hand will put on a coat, scarf and boots to answer the door when its 40 degrees.

If I never saw snow again it would not hurt my feelings, but something about 90's and matching humidity with the occasional threat of a hurricane or tropical storm off the Gulf is not something I would consider a trade up.

Thinking maybe Charlotte, NC area in a year or two.

if it wasn't in California, I'd suggest San Diego

But it is and now that DW's son, grandkids and his new love of his life live in the Charlotte area, she wants to move closer.
