It is raining shingles in stillwater that it picked up when it went through Guthrie.

It should miss me by 40 miles at least, they say this is bigger than the Joplin storm.

It is pretty nasty. I don't think I've ever seen a hook echo as well defined as that before.

The storm chaser that's following it says it has a massive debri ball!

It looks like it went over Stillwater without touching down.

I'm seeing strong cells, but not a lot of rotation out there anymore. No real classic definition on it's reflectivity anymore either. It may have died down a bit. Tulsa is in the cross hairs though, so things may still get dicey.

That was close, about two miles away and one ten miles away, our power was out but it's back on now, it's still off in the valley and turned some trucks over in Haskel.

7 dead in OK tonight. Death toll now 124 in Joplin from yesterday with 1,500 missing.

Meanwhile, hussein drinks $1000 wine in London after screwing up the toast to the Queen. But he'll be down here Sunday. Geez!

(Sorry to mix in the politics with this human tragedy.)

We were lucky that most of the touchdowns were in thinly populated areas. When you get out of the cities there are blocks of several square miles with nothing but cattle, the Joplin Tornado was the worst possible scenario.

Tinker AFB reported 72kts of wind, 1.5" hail, and had visibility down to less then 1/4 of a mile. I'm damn well willing to bet they got hit as well, they just couldn't see it.

The little North East OK town of Nowata was reporting 1 1/2" hail last night, and had sirens going off. Haven't heard the result. :(

That was the storm cell that went on into Joplin. :(

from Pulpfishin

This happened TODAY, 5/24/2010 close to Calumet, OK.
This was 2 miles down the road from our rig.
An F5 tornado that was 1/2mile wide with winds up to 210mph caused this. Everyone survived and no, there is no oil spill(or natural gas)
