The term "VD" is slang for venereal disease, but, in this case, it can also stand for "Vitalis' Dome," as in St. Vitalis, the patron saint for genital diseases.

This has a decapitated head and genital references - how is this not Lounge material? :p


I expect there is no provenance for this object and that's why the valuation is so low. First Class relics are very, very pricey.

I expect there is more pious fraud here than objective fact. I'm not much bothered by pious fraud but that would account for the private possession by a relatively obscure Irish family as well as the price tag. The Vatican has a branch devoted to tracking relics and establishing their history. Evidently the Vatican has found this object wanting on some level. ;)

There's got be a "free clinic" somewhere in this country in which this would be appropriate decor-like the famous Haight-Ashbury clinic in SF.
