Same exact spot as the one that cause the Tsunami. No reported intensities greater then 4 on the Island though, thankfully.

Any Tsunami danger?

The JMA has an advisory out for the northern coastline, so I'd say no. If they were worried about one, they'd have a warning out.

They seem to survive the quakes well, it's the water that gets them.

The quakes are scary in their own right. About a month before I left, we got hit with a 7.0 right under us at 2am. I lived in a 7th floor condo. I about shit myself when it felt like the floor just fell out from under us.

I can only imagine, the most we ever get are little tremors. they effect my oil production sometimes good sometimes bad, but that's about it.

The observed Tsunami was less then half a meter. Pretty negligible.

This is why I like Michigan: no hurricanes, no earthquakes (other than a very occasional tremor that shakes the buildings about as hard as a big truck driving by does), and not as many tornados as other states.

But you have that numbing winter weather. :D

No place is perfect. Glad that you bring up the positives of Michigan. The lakes up there are beautiful, too. I like the Benton Harbor area, went to a greyhound gathering with Blue some years ago. It was a charming area. The dogs got to walk on the boardwalk and sniff the lake air---but they couldn't go on the beach.

Winter time brings it's own plusses. While it gets a TON of snow, the Great Lakes actually tend to keep it a bit warmer then you'd expect. It's usually pretty beautiful with a few feet of snow on the ground. You gotta know how to drive in that stuff though...

There is not a season that I can't find something to enjoy about Michigan. Fishing, Hunting, snow mobiling, all that stuff, you won't find a much better place. Of course I'm talking about northern michigan. Not that cess pool they call southern michigan.

You sir are responsible for the explosion of waste that is Prius! You provide Oil, Grease, Gas, and electricity via that petroleum that allows these ugly, sinister pieces of waste to populate our freeways.

I have a theory about the Tsunami's:

The cause is obviously GoZerra! (Godzilla).

This is Japan you know?
