Guess What The Fiscal Conservatives DIDN’T Do Before Going on Vacation?

TEA PARTIED Republican Congressional representatives REFUSED to compromise and vote on critical FAA legislation before going on their FIVE WEEK vacation which will cost the government $200 MILLION A WEEK in airline ticket sales; loss of pay for 4,000 FAA employees AND loss of jobs for thousands of airport construction workers.

Way to go “putting the government in fiscal order” masqueraders!I see DU got their marching orders from the White House.

What the FAA Dust Up Means

With the dust still settling over the bruising debt ceiling fight, it must have been wearying to the general public to turn on the network news last night and see the lead story about the leftover fight in Washington over full funding for the Federal Aviation Administration. This was obviously a managed “story-of-the-day” for Washington Democrats. Obama made it the centerpiece of his public remarks preceding his cabinet meeting, and on Capitol Hill leading Democrats from both chambers breathlessly took turns berating House Republicans and, significantly, the news media, for the sin of asking questions with a seeming Republican bias.

FAA workers are being furloughed and several projects stopped, all because those nasty, Tea Party extremistTM House Republicans won’t simply do a “clean” extension of FAA funding. Instead, those evil terroristTM House Republicans insist on cutting wasteful subsidies for rural airports. The House passed an FAA funding bill that kept everything running except for some of these subsidies, but Senate Democrats refused to go along.

Just like MN. Dayton refused to sign budget bills they agreed upon. He wanted EVERYTHING except what a judge decided was "essential services" shut down rather than leaving leaving only SOME things to be decided during the Govt shutdown. And then he blamed the Republicans.

AND like raising the debt limit. Republicans passed bills, Democrats refused to bring them up or vote in the Senate and then they claimed that it was the Republicans who were the problem.

Here Democrats would prefer EVERYTHING except essential FAA jobs be shut down rather than only some that they are in disagreement with.

They don't learn from their mistakes do they?

And in other news...summer vacationers will have cheaper airfares this summer...a plus for consumers looking for ways to save money in this weak economy.

And that's all because just the GOP failed to compromise? Seems like if it was that important to the Dimbulbrats, they could have given up their own damn' pet rocks just as easily, and settled the whole thing.
