Here’s a PDF of the letter requesting that the speech be postponed until Thursday. The reason given: Logistical difficulties, not the fact that The One’s being a jackass by trying to preempt the GOP debate. But here’s the punchline, via John McCormack:

NFL season starts next Thursday 830pm ET, Packers vs. Saints.

Your move, champ. ...Read More at HotAir (http://hotair.com/archives/2011/08/31/boehner-to-obama-how-about-giving-your-speech-the-day-after-the-gop-debate-instead/)

One would think he'd want to fuck with the Packer's game....but he's got his priorities in place to fuck with the GOP instead.

Honestly, Boehner should just tell him to go to one of his green companies to give his speach...it'll be bankrupt by this time next year, but not like he gives a rats ass

No shit. Since the debate is actually going to be about solving the problem and Bam Bam's speech is not going to be about anything but Bam Bam.

Boehner Wins: Obama Moves Speech to Sept. 8 (http://townhall.com/tipsheet/elisabethmeinecke/2011/08/31/boehner_wins_jobs_speech_moved_to_sept_8)

"Today, the President asked to address the Congress about the need for urgent action on the economic situation facing the American people as soon as Congress returned from recess. Both Houses will be back in session after their August recess on Wednesday, September 7th, so that was the date that was requested. We consulted with the Speaker about that date before the letter was released, but he determined Thursday would work better. The President is focused on the urgent need to create jobs and grow our economy, so he welcomes the opportunity to address a Joint Session of Congress on Thursday, September 8th and challenge our nation's leaders to start focusing 100% of their attention on doing whatever they can to help the American people."

I think Krauthemhammer or however you spell it had a better idea. They should have moved the debate to 9:00 P.M. this would have let the American people see Obammy's ploy fo'tr what it was, and then it would have put the spotlight on 8 republican candidates who could have torn up everything Obama said immediately after he said it. We all know Obama's speech is just going to be more of the same shit that isn't working.

True, but a hour delay? They would have started almost immediately after the Pres. Not a lot of time to go over their points with their staff.

By postponing it, it does a few things.

1. Obama looks to be caving.

2. Obama now has to refute and plans mentioned by Republicans on the 7th.

3. Obama is now competing against the start of the football season, and all the games. Does he interrupt many games to let him spew his old tired crap every one knows won't work?

The Second Coming's speech has been moved to the 8th.

If that prick pre-empts even a second of the Packer game, there's going to be hell to pay. This is their Super Bowl repeat year, and that's much more important than a political speech by the Incompetent One.

The White House did its usual Chicago style politics. Washington isn't impressed.

It's actually only one game, Packers-Saints, but I'll bet more people will tune in for that than anything this bonehead has to say

Amen, but it'll be on NFL Network I believe so only local channels will have to deal with it, and I doubt any of the Packer's and Saint's local networks will be stupid enough not to show the game over this imbeciles remarks

Most people will be watching the Packers/Saint's game... the last two Super Bowl Champions vs THIS President? No contest.
