After breaking the story of Solyndra's shady taxpayer funded practices (which were not enough to stave off bankruptcy, and yet another confirmation that government stimulus in the form of subsidies is virtually always an epic failure), Bruce Krasting subsequently delved into the one entity that somehow had managed to get priority interest to subordinated government loans to the tune of $528 million in government funding: Argonaut Ventures, and specifically one George Kaiser who just happens to be a material fund-raiser for the president. And while it is not known yet whether the embedded improprieties in this peculiar relationship will end Obama's chances for reelection, things are starting to stink. Because as Bloomberg reports, as of a few hours ago, the company's headquarters was raided by the Feds. While at this point they are certainly looking for signs of criminal malfeasance by management, it won't be long before they put two and two together and decided to analyze the logic behind the funding, and why it is that an Obama-favored person will get his money out first while US taxpayers will likely suffer a total wash.

From Bloomberg:

Solyndra LLC, the bankrupt solar- panel maker that was backed by the Obama administration, is being raided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation today, an agency spokeswoman said.

“We’re executing a search warrant jointly” with the Department of Energy inspector general “regarding an investigation,” FBI spokeswoman Julie Sohn said of the raid at the company’s Fremont, California, headquarters offices and plant. Sohn said she couldn’t provide details about the investigation. ...

I'm amazed the FBI is raiding the place.

That pay to play stuff from Chicago isn't only done by Blago.

per radio today... The DOJ had the FBI to do the raid. If so, and I don't pretend to understand the details, this means there has been ample time to clean and cover up the dirt. O's DOJ would likely prevent a "real" surprise raid. If these freaks can white wash Fast and Furious, they will survive this. Just my jaded opinion.

He's right. It was on another local radio talk-show here too.

He was saying that some in Washington suspect this is a move to secure documents ahead of a House Inquiry into Campaign donations to Obama's election ahead of the '08 elections, and subsequent addition of this company onto the funding list at request by officials in Obama's Admn.

DOJ (Holder) ordered it. Which means any damning documents are being secured where no one will see them.

It's also the Clinton way of doing things. Remember all those files that disappeared and then somehow were found?

I hope this backfires on them.

Sept. 9, 2011

Officials from the Department of Energy have for months been sitting in on board meetings as "observers" at Solyndra, getting an up-close view as the solar energy company careened towards bankruptcy after spending more than $500 million in federal loan money.

Word of the Energy Department's unusual arrangement came as federal agents on Thursday converged on the California headquarters of the failed solar company, focusing fresh attention on the first corporate beneficiary of President Obama's stimulus program to create new clean energy jobs. ...http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/obama-officials-sat-solyndra-meetings/story?id=14476848

This also means that they can stonewall congress by claiming that they are involved in an ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, the media reports make it look like the feds are actually enforcing the law by raiding the company instead of covering up their involvement.

In a completely unrelated story, FBI/DOJ issue warnings to Solyndra that they will be coming soon to look at their records; and they mean it!

Yep, and we will only learn what really is/has gone on there is after '12 when we defeat obama and replace Holder and the rest of their corrupt cronies, and start looking closer at what really was going on in the DOJ.

At which point, there will be very little that will be done, as no administration wants to put itself in the position of prosecuting the previous office-holders, because it would look like political score-settling, and worse, once the precedent was established, it would be extremely risky for a future president to step down. We'd have a choice between letting Holder and company walk, or risk having to pry future office-holders out of the job at gunpoint.

True to a point. Obama, and some of the high-up admins will walk. But information will be released and will tarnish all of them. Even thou its not policy to do so, leaking said documents/info is an old tradition.

We will likely see lower lvl members prosecuted thou. Some of those who recently got promoted who were associated with "Gun Walker". As well as a few other paper pushers. This too is tradition. Look at the CIA members on trial now from the Bush admin. Lower lvl people who were nothing more then paper pushers.

Yeah, but then, when people have forgotten how bad Obama and the Democrats were (and the media will do everything in its power to aid that forgetfulness), and a new Democratic administration takes office, how many of those corrupt hacks will be brought back? Remember that Holder was supposedly tarnished by his involvement in the Clinton pardons for pay scandal, and yet he's now the AG. They need to be exposed now, and the prosecutions begun by congress, not subsequent administrations.

There simply isn't time.

First they must get the inquiries into the mater started. Then appoint an impartial investigator. Which will likely take 2 or more years. Then after the investigations are done, congress must review the findings. Then if they feel there is some thing seriously wrong done, begin a congressional trial which will take about 3-6 months, or longer if the Admin stonewalls the process with "Administrative Privilege".

With all the steps required, the next term President will be done before its all over.
