A tree-bending, travel-disrupting snowstorm continues in Denver with conditions set to worsen southward along the I-25 corridor into northeastern New Mexico through tonight.

Less than 36 hours after Monday's record warmth, a winter wonderland has unfolded across northeastern Colorado and neighboring southeastern Wyoming.

The snow commenced in Denver and Cheyenne, Wyo., late Tuesday and will continue through today.

The AccuWeather.com Winter Weather Center is expecting a total of 3 to 6 inches in Denver with closer to 10 inches toward the foothills.

The good news is that most of the snow will accumulate on grassy surfaces rather than roads. It's early in the season, and the roads around Denver are relatively warm in the wake of Monday's 80-degree warmth.
