Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs (CFL's) are causing health problems in asthmatics, diabetics, and patients with MS.

I wasn't buying the energy-saving new light bulbs because of the price. Now I have a better reason.


I didn't know they used mercury. That can't be good-mercury is safe contained in a thermometer, but not in anything that will heat it beyond it's limits.

I'm trying to figure out what bulbs to buy when they outlaw our tungsten ones.

They use less electricity and put off less heat.

The downside is that if you break one, you need a hazmat team!

LED lights are dropping in price, they should be safer.

My next lights will be LED. I did have one of these CFL bulbs break and I didn't know about the mercury. I cleaned it up like a normal bulb. I hope I don't die as a result! :eek:
