THREE adults and three children were on board a plane that exploded when it crashed into the mountains in the US state of Pheonix.

A spokesperson from the Falcon Executive Aviation flight school in Mesa told TV station KPHO the pilot had flown from Safford to Falcon Field, a public airport located 8km northeast of Mesa, to pick up his children.

Definitely prayers for the families. I have three friends who go their single engine licensees at falcon field, one who now flys for American Eagle. I've taken off from that field many times. That really sucks.

My heart goes out to the mother of those three children. How does one even begin to cope with that kind of loss? It hurts my heart just thinking about it.
