Tokyo (CNN) -- A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the north coast of Japan Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. There was no immediate threat of a tsunami.
The quake's epicenter was in the ocean about 100 miles from the city of Sapporo and 450 miles from Tokyo.
