After America

Not so long ago, a high-ranking Chinese official, who obviously had concluded that America's decline and China's rise were both inevitable, noted in a burst of candor to a senior U.S. official: "But, please, let America not decline too quickly." Although the inevitability of the Chinese leader's expectation is still far from certain, he was right to be cautious when looking forward to America's demise.

.
For if America falters, the world is unlikely to be dominated by a single preeminent successor -- not even China. International uncertainty, increased tension among global competitors, and even outright chaos would be far more likely outcomes.

While a sudden, massive crisis of the American system -- for instance, another financial crisis -- would produce a fast-moving chain reaction leading to global political and economic disorder, a steady drift by America into increasingly pervasive decay or endlessly widening warfare with Islam would be unlikely to produce, even by 2025, an effective global successor. No single power will be ready by then to exercise the role that the world, upon the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, expected the United States to play: the leader of a new, globally cooperative world order. More probable would be a protracted phase of rather inconclusive realignments of both global and regional power, with no grand winners and many more losers, in a setting of international uncertainty and even of potentially fatal risks to global well-being. Rather than a world where dreams of democracy flourish, a Hobbesian world of enhanced national security based on varying fusions of authoritarianism, nationalism, and religion could ensue.

The peasants will be the last to learn of this. But I am not the only one noticing these trends... and I have written extensively about this here. But it seems to me that at this point folks need a reality check. This is not going to be on your evening news. Nor, quite possibly, in the NYT for a while yet. But it is now a regular matter of discussion in very elite media... and I do not care if this is Zbignew Brzezinski (no, no relation) or whoever. This is now being discussed at a very serious level.

So time to start thinking about this in a serious manner...

And at this time, well, guess what? I have been in extremely good company for close to a decade... but alas those folks do not write in the Daily Picayune.

The usual anit-american, end of the USA horseshit that she loves to dig up.

And of course, she saw it all coming years ago...:blah::blah::blah:

Of course what dear Nabinbrzezinski and all her little friends failed to calulate into America's final stages was that they were going to be right in middle of things when it happens.

My guess is Nabinbrzezinski thought that those who survived the collapse would crawl to her and beg that she and the rest of the Moonbats lead them into the Utopia that she has been constructing her limited mind for the last few years.

What instead is most likely to happen to Nabinbrzezinski and her friends is they will expect the local warlords to kiss their asses seven times a day and theyl end up as zombie chow.

Absolutely correct, Dan ... and it will look GOOD on her and her foolish ILK!

Unfortunately for us, IF ... God forbid, this country goes down, we too, will suffer without deserving it!

EDIT ... Punctuation correction just in case, Linda! :p :)

Well thankfully, and much to Nadin and her ilks disappointment, the US isn't going down anytime soon.

And these pieces of scum wonder why we can't stand a lot of them!! But do you see any of them really leaving the country??? Nope!

I never understood why the Leftist want to destroy the Piggy Bank (the USA). Why don't they just go to Europe and enjoy the bacon? What mind-set would bring them to want to eliminate the source that finances their socialists dreams?

They believe that all wealth has already been created and it just changes hands, if they could (in their minds) distribute it fairly , everyone would be wealthy.

The answer is simple.

Moonbats just don't want to live under Socialism, they want you to live under Socialism, and they get to be the boss.

Many Moonbats believe they can run your life better then you; after all, they're the " Enlightened Ones " and would be running things now if people weren't so stupid and backwards.

Also being the boss they get all the goodies they want and don't have to follow the rules and laws they create.

But in reality a place run by Moonbats would either turn quickly into dictatorship, or break down into chaos in less then a year.

These idiot Moonbats don't have to leave the USA to see the Utopia they crave. I used to believe that seeing the fruits of Communist Utopia in formerly Soviet Block countries would cure them of their fantasy. While driving to and from Phoenix, I observed government provided Indian housing. They were horrid little pieces of crap that were identically dreadful. I was struck by how the wealthy government of the USA provided no better housing than that provided by poor governments.
