Occupy Providence wins day center for homeless.
"The city ordered protesters to leave the park where it set up an encampment Oct. 15, and they refused."

And who is going to run the homeless shelter? The evil Roman Catholic Church.....and with no public money.

Malin said activists have been told the facility will open soon. It will be run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence, which already operates an emergency winter shelter at Emmanuel House. The Rhode Island Homeless Advocacy Project and the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless also will provide support, and activists plan to volunteer there, Occupy Providence said.
Providence Public Safety Commissioner Steven Pare said the city will help find funding to operate the shelter but that no city money will be used.
"We'll help in any way we can so it's properly resourced," he told The Associated Press.
He said he expects the shelter to open within days and that he expects Occupy activists to leave the park "as soon as practical" after that.
Homeless advocates have estimated that it would cost about $10,000 a month to operate the day center, which would supplement existing shelter facilities.
And so, in thanks, what's the first thing Occupy Providence did?
Throw condoms at school girls at a pro live event.
In Providence Rhode Island last week, about two dozen members of the Occupy Movement shouted down a Catholic priest at a pro-life rally, and threw condoms on Catholic school girls for good measure.
The Occupiers did this the day after the local Catholic Bishop, Thomas Tobin, decided to meet Occupy Providence's request that the city open up a daytime homeless shelter for the winter.
