New show on National Geographic Channel (NGC) debuted last night.

The people they showed last night have a house made out of cargo containers, and something like 15000 lbs of food put away, methane generator from household sewage and pig pen, numerous small windmills and some solar panels. They also have a school bus and planned and rehearsed "escape routes". They had some decent firearms including a Benelli M4 tactical shotgun and some kind of tricked out AR, as well as a bunch of .22s and a 1903 Springfield.

I'd say they were "ready".

Anybody watch it?
Anybody as ready as they are?

I didn't watch that show, but I was flipping channels recently and discovered that Jim Bakker's new scam is selling powdered food to survivalists on what is supposed to be a religious program.

Obviously, he is targeting the post-trib rapture believers with this scam.:)

It's a series. There are going to be more of them. For instance, the couple on the other night, his major concern for his preparations is the polar shift...which is about 350000 years overdue.

There were two episodes back-to-back, the folks they featured were pretty damned prepared for the most part, of course what exactly they were preparing for varied widely, and therefore so did the scale and nature of their preparations. The guy in Maine seemed pretty naive about how low other people will go when they feel their survival is concerned.

Seems like a fairly bad idea to appear on one of these programs, to me.
