President Barack Obama’s retreat from requiring Catholic institutions to provide healthcare policies that include birth control does not mean the administration is caving on its intent to trample on the Constitution, Rush Limbaugh said today on his radio show.

“There isn’t any cave,” Limbaugh said of Friday’s decision to withdraw the mandate. “We’re supposed to applaud this? We’re supposed to think that we have emerged with a big victory here?

“Freedom doesn’t mean anything to this guy — to me, this is breathtaking — this is an incredible sight to behold here,” Limbaugh said. “He’s still getting everything he wants . . . and in the process, trampling all over the Constitution.

"There's no compromise, no negotiation. There's no phony balance here. Obama is simply not empowered to interfere with religious liberty."

Rush should be considered a national treasure. Obama should be considered excrement.

I'm just hoping that voters listen to Rush. There have been times that I haven't always agreed with him, but he has that good "flyover country" good, common sense. SR and I have driven down to his hometown, Cape Girardeau, Mo. It's a small college town on the banks of the Mississippi, south of St Louis.

One of the most upsetting things to me was when clergy in the military were not allowed to discuss it.

So not only were chaplains told not to read the letter, but an Obama administration official edited a pastoral letter . . . with church buy-in?

Didn’t people flee across an ocean-sized pond to be free of this kind of thing?

The only thing Obama pulled was the wool over the eyes of the voters.

Socialism at work.

I didn't hear about this from Rush. I heard about it from Rick Santorum.

I agree with Rush. The Blowhard, Dictator In Chief, doesn't have the authority to "remove" what he never had the authority to install. This damnable turd needs to go. He and that asinine jackass wife of his who talked to our airmen like they were children. She is just as bad if not worse than her Marxist Chairmen husband. I detest both of these National embarrassments.

Whatever you call it, it doesn't make any sense. I only heard part of Rush, and he was kind of dancing around this point withour nailing it dead-on, but if Obama can simply decree that BC/abortion services be provided "For free" to some people, what keeps him from just decreeing that ALL medical services be provided to EVERYONE "For free?" The economic flows and property rights affected are the same in both cases.

Exactly. If he can declare that GM debt holders have to give up their place in line in favor of unions, GE cannot manufacture and sell lightbulbs that have been in use for over a century or that oil companies cannot drill on land that they have leased for that express purpose, then contracts mean nothing, and the rights that underlie contracts, the rights to create, own and use property, are whatever he wants them to be, and no transaction is beyond his control.
