The devout evangelicals and other christians are being appealed to directly by Santorum in both
their hearts and minds. This is their moment. Has not happened in a while. Their peak is right now. Romney will win in the end and all those christians will be crushed. They will not accept a lesser god whisperer, which any mormon is. They'll be depressed by the time the Presidential election comes around and they won't vote in great numbers.

All one can do is laugh at this. Yes there are a few Christians who do not like Romney because He is a Mormom........but there are more of them that do not like His policies and think He's too liberal. But that doesn't mean that they will vote for Obama or give him a passive vote by not voting.

OK, I'll bite. Obama will appeal to pro abortionists, environmentalists, and other wackadoo leftist religions. What's their point?

Given that LDS is not Christian by any measure, moreover we know who made LDS up and when, and given that Santorum believes that demons have their eyes on American The Righteous, and given that Obama belongs/belonged to some whackjob protestant church- Newt seems rather tame on this score.

But let's not kid ourselves. Jeb Bush is looking swell to a lot of people, despite his relative lack of piety, his wife being a Mexican smuggler of clothing, his son and daughter being in trouble with the law, and his former (or perhaps present) business partners in Miami being known criminals and South American gangsters.

Even I think that Jeb Bush is starting to look a lot like Gerald Ford: a touch of quiet in the storm.

Meanwhile, the Florida Republicans are trying to rob the piggy banks of the various state universities so that those of us who have saved for a college education will have to come up with more money even though we were promised a fixed price.

This has been the case when I run into someone with a great dislike for mormons.

They are surprised that a social conservative would appeal directly to evangelical voters? Are they shocked when a liberal candidate campaigns directly to union members? It's the same priniciple-a candidate is going to seek out voters who are sympathetic to the same causes he or she is sympathetic to. It's sort of the basic practice of politics.
