Being produced by the one who produced “An Inconvenient Truth.” So we can expect a movie full of lies.

President Obama’s campaign has hired Oscar-winning director Davis Guggenheim to produce a short film chronicling the first three years of his administration, Julianna Goldman of Bloomberg reports (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-02-24/obama-enlists-guggenheim-for-campaign-film.html).

The campaign paid more than $160,000 for the film, which is less than 30 minutes long and set to be released in the coming weeks, Goldman reports.

Guggenheim won an Oscar in 2006 for “An Inconvenient Truth.”

It's a shame that Irwin Allen is no longer around. He had a real flair for disaster movies, and the Obama administration combines so many themes, from the inversion of values causing massive pain and death (the Poseidon Adventure) to the destruction of a magnificent project (The Towering Inferno) and the destruction of the foundations of our republic (Earthquake), that he'd be the ideal director.

C'mon, it can't really be about Obama or it would be under seal.

Thirty minutes is too long. I can't stomach obumble for that long. Thirty seconds would be better, and I'd be gagging then.

I cannot stand looking at or listening to him. I like to say I don't hate anybody, but he makes me stretch the word dislike to the limit.

With Hollywood gathering this weekend for the 84th Academy Awards, President Barack Obama has recruited Oscar-winning documentary director Davis Guggenheim to again produce a short film for his campaign.

Update.

Via WaPo (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/post/obama-campaign-releasing-17-minute-documentary/2012/03/07/gIQAYXYFxR_blog.html):

Campaign officials for President Obama’s reelection race announced Wednesday that they are planning to release a 17-minute documentary about his first term in office next week.

Campaign manager Jim Messina told reporters that the documentary will “put into perspective the enormous challenges that the nation faced when the president took office and the strides we’ve made together.”

A trailer will come out this week. The movie itself will be screened at events around the country.

Davis Guggenheim, the filmmaker behind the Oscar-winning Al Gore documentary “An Inconvenient Truth,” is directing the movie. Guggenheim also helped produce a 30-minute Obama infomercial aired just before the 2008 election.

Take note, it is now only 17 min. Where earlier they said it would be 30. Guess they couldn't find enough positive things he accomplished to fill anther 13 min.

A propaganda movie about an empty suit? They should call it Triumph of the Nil.

Has anyone watched it? I can't bring myself to watch it right now. Or tomorrow.

I thought I heard that in the flick someone actually says "Obama can do no wrong" or "He's never wrong". Is it out of context or is it that arrogant?

I did read that Afghanistan is never mentioned and I imagine they left out the part about his promise to close Gitmo in a year.

Didn't watch this piece of propaganda garbage but the comments on it are full of drooling Obama cultists praising Dear Leader. Never have I seen so much stupidity in one spot...even more so than the DUmp and that's saying a lot.

I thought I heard something about Obama can do no wrong:

CNN's Piers Morgan mocked filmmaker Davis Guggenheim last night for not including a single criticism of President Obama in his campaign documentary.

Piers Morgan: "Most documentary makers balance these movies with the negative as well as the positive. What are the negatives in your movie about Barack Obama?

Davis Guggenheim: "Well, I mean the negative for me was, there were too many accomplishments. I had 17 minutes to put them all in there."

Piers Morgan: "Oh, come off it! You can't say that with a straight face. Come on."

Davis Guggenheim: "I'm looking at you right now with a straight face."

Piers Morgan: "The only negativity about Barack Obama is there are too many positives?"

Davis Guggenheim: "That was the negative -- excuse me, that was the negative for me."

Piers Morgan: "Oh."...

Piers Morgan: "But where do you find fault in him, personally?"

Davis Guggenheim: "I -- you know, I don't. I don't, frankly."

Piers Morgan: "He's a perfect human being?"

Davis Guggenheim: "Well, no. but I'm really quite in awe of him, as a leader, and the choices he's made."

Piers Morgan: "I mean, I'm only asking because you are a well-known documentary maker, and this would be the first movie, I guess, you've made where it's all completely positive. And even you personally don't see any negative at all in the guy. Do you think you were the right guy to make this? I mean, are you dispassionate enough to make a Barack Obama video?"

Davis Guggenheim: "But, Piers, you haven't seen the movie. You've only seen the trailer."

Piers Morgan: "Well, I've asked you to list all the negatives and you said the only negative was you couldn't put enough positives in."

Davis Guggenheim: "Well, that's true. That's true."Someone should start a line of Guggenheim kneepads.

He's the new Leni Riefenstahl.

Same kind of unquestioning worship.

There's some evidence that Riefenstahl was in love with Hitler. It sounds almost the same with Guggenheim, maybe in the manly sense of the word....:friendly_wink:

This is my favorite part:

Piers Morgan: "The only negativity about Barack Obama is there are too many positives?"You use that line in a job interview and you get laughed out of the interview. Resume goes in the circular file. Emails are passed around the industry pointing and laughing at you.

Interviewer: Tell me something you'd like to change about yourself.
You: I put in too many hours at the office (or) I am a perfectionist.
Interviewer: OK douche. Bye-bye.
