View Full Version : That tube amp smell
Anyone crank their tube amp to about 4 and notice that smell? No i don't mean a burning smell,i mean the same smell you encounter when you go into the room of tube amps at a guitar shop.

Oh yeah. Marantz amps cranked up or, old Radio transmitters running 120% power.

I started out with tubes. im a member on a stereo board and they have a forum for tubes and tube amps only. a lotta guys still like them. they buy junkers and fix em up or build their own

tube amps were the best at low end freeks. no so good on high end.
