I used to eat those in college. The best part is the red slaw. Sort of big though.

SLW and I meant to try one of those when we were out in San Diego a couple of years ago.

We went to this (http://www.square1burgers.com/) place over the weekend. Very good!! I had a Buffalo Bob and SLW had an Elk burger.

Red slaw? I don't recall a Whataburger made with red slaw. :concern:

I don't eat fast food like this anymore. or I should say a lot less. years back I was way over weight with a soaring Cholesterol level. had a talk with a dietician. I was expecting one of those diets no one can stay on. but to my surprise she showed me how to wen myself off it. instead of a daily diet of fast food I went back once or twice a week. and then finally I went an entire year with none at all. it worked. but i had to test it so one day i stopped at McD and got a cheeseburgerr. yuk !!! tasted like crap. I can still have anything but just a lot less of it. Cholesterol went down under 200 and i went from 248 to around 180.

I used to OD on my fav. BBQ. once a week like clock work. they stuck the needle in and drew out little chunks of beef and sauce. now I have it maybe 3 times a year.

Can you give me some tips. I believe if I ate cigarette butts and grass I'd still have high cholesterol. :frown-new:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/9138230/Red-meat-is-blamed-for-one-in-10-early-deaths.html
Red meat is blamed for one in 10 early deaths
The Department of Health was last night urged to review its guidance on red meat after a study found that eating almost half the daily recommended amount can significantly increase the risk of dying early from cancer and heart disease.

Sorry, I saw this article yesterday and it put a damper on my urge to splurge.

I found out high cholesterol can be inherited. check with the family. also I take a cholesterol med once a day. mr doc can help out here big time. diet and exercise may not be enough. do i sound like a commercial???

I worked with a young guy in his mid 20's who had a cholesterol level over 400 !!! his dad was way over to. they had to get this guy under control fast. and the med did the trick.

We don't have Whataburger, either.

I tried a Culver's butter burger a couple of weeks ago. It was yummy, but it reamed on my stomach. At this point, whoppers are the only fast food burgers that don't ream on my gut.

I have a very good friend who now works in Saudi. He is not overweight, runs 3-5 times a week and eats very properly.

Can't get his cholesterol below 250 for the last 10 years.

I've never eaten at a Jack-n-the Box. The guy creeps me out to be honest. The other one that creeps me out is the Burger King. When I saw that commercial where he was in bed with that guy made me shiver (in a bad way). I would have soiled my underroos if that happened to me.:apologetic:

I guess I will have to try them too, they built one across the street from the Whataburger but I don't know if I will be able to resist the Whatapull.
I have an idea, I can get a single meat Whataburger and then go across the street and get a Jack in the box too!

Ah the joys of aging. :blue:
I've never had high cholesterol, but I've suffered from
the really bad acid reflux since childhood. Several years
ago I had lesions starting on my esophagus like eventually
turn to cancer. So they put me on Nexium and that keeps it
pretty well under control. But I've had to give up all pizza. It
tears me up bad and I end up walking the floor and sleeping
upright on a chair all night if I eat pizza. There's nothing like
jolting awake at 3 AM with a nose and throat full of bubbling
acid. It leaves a burn that milk can't even wash down.
