I read a thread about it on the notebook forum but haven't got the guts to try it. Drivers are always a big issue.

I've been debating if I was going to load the consumer preview or not. Like Rock stated, drivers are my sticking point. It looks pretty slick.

You did get me thinking about it though, I have plenty of hard drive space and I got bored with linux and kicked it out.

I mutibooted with linux, xp and vista for quite a while. That grub boot can be a real pain when trying to kick linux and retain windows. And vista by itself is enough to muck up anything. Windows 7 saved the day from that disaster. I currently have one system with 8 primary partitions with several flavors on it of course. No more of that stinkin vista though.

The system requirements have stayed the same since the last release, allowing even the most minimal of hardware platforms to run the OS. Official requirements from Microsoft:

Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster

RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)

Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device or higher

To use touch, you need a tablet or monitor that supports multitouch

Hmm... I forgot all about the fact that you can manually change the bsod color (and the text color) from blue to anything you want in the system.ini file. Havent thought about that since Windows ME.

Seems they re arranged the looks of things and although they are also releasing Internet explorer 10 windows itself will in essence be a web browser.

I multibooted WinXP, Win7 and Win8. It is quite diff. The gui is very nice. But if your not a bit pc savvy the controls might definately throw you off. No start button in the bottom tool bar for the start menu, shut down and program files. I wonder how much will change from what I'm seeing now.

well my PC rolled over and died last week. so now I have Winders 7
