One way to remember National Puppy Day is to take a look back at some of the great dogs that have graced this Earth. Dogs that were war heroes. Dogs that were saints. Dogs that were astronauts. And dogs that captured the hearts of nations.

Sgt. Stubby
A war dog from World War I, Stubby was the dog version of G.I. Joe. He was a badass in every sense of the word. After passing away, he was honored with a brick at the World War I memorial and his remains were sent to the Smithsonian. ...http://mancavedaily.newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/03/23/celebrate-national-puppy-day-with-historys-greatest-dogs/
