Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., endorsed Mitt Romney for president Wednesday night on Fox News' "Hannity," saying Romney offers "a very clear alternative" to President Obama's vision for the future of the country.

Rubio, a young, first-termer who has been discussed as a possible vice presidential candidate, criticized talk of a fight for the Republican nomination on the convention floor, a possibility that is keeping alive the campaigns of Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich.

Actually, unlike Mike1820749786235498236759873023754035709357023957 , I do make my points. The point of this post as well as my one about DeMint is that people whom we ALL, almost to a tee, consider as "true conservatives" support Romney.

I want people who question Mitt Romney's conservatism also to question themselves and look deep down and ask themselves why are these conservatives supporting Romney?

Don't get me wrong, I like Santorum, I just don't feel he is qualified to be president. Like it or not, he has painted himself into a corner as a one trick pony due to some of his stupid comments and answers over the last few months.

Isn't GHW Bush sort of the King of the RINOs?

At least, that's what Mike would say. I personally like RINOs like Michigan's current governor (Snyder), the late Gerald Ford, Condi Rice and former Michigan Governor Milliken.

Qualified? That seems to be a strange word to use in any argument inre to what we are experiencing now and what we have been through in the last 3 1/2 years. Qualified? Really??

Hell, my cat is more "qualified" than what we have now.

Please. There has to be a better argument, a better qualifier than "qualified" if your going to disparage our side brother.

Synder isn't a RINO, a little left on a few issues, but is no RINO, he wouldn't be doing the same stuff Walker did in WI if he was a RINO

I'm not disparaging anyone. I just don't think Rick Santorum is ready yet for "prime time" as they say. He is young and made a LOT of rookie mistakes first of which was getting caught up in the fake "contreception" debate.

Personally I want him to run for the governorship of Pennsylvania and win that. I would gladly give him money to run for the governor's seat in PA. If he can win that, then he has learned from his mistakes and then will be ready to challenge for the White House.

And the GOP Establishment said Reagan was too old. Look how that worked out.

Santorum didn't get caught up in any contraception debate...the Dems created this then made sure that every single question asked of every candidate was about their own creation.

And when Santorum tried to steer the debate back to the real isues...and chided the media for being fixiated on a non issue...some on our side labelled him as "whiny".

I've heard him several times now on Levin's show...and when he's asked questions pertinent and relavent to what's happening to the country today...there's no any one in the GOP could not vote for him if he's the nominee.

That's kind of a step down though isn't it?

He's not doing the same stuff that Walker did, at least not to state employees. He's been good to us, except for that pension thing and my union will likely prevail in court on that matter. He could never screw us as badly as the union-endorsed Granholm did, and he is far to the left of John Engler. He's the first governor since Blanchard to care about our safety, and is letting us carry pepper spray, unlike Engler (who issued the policy that stopped us from doing so) or Granholm.

Also, unlike Engler, we are not getting stupid mangement directive memos forbidding us to discuss contraception with our teenaged clients. Not that any worker obeyed this directive, but it was unrealistic when you consider the population of abused, neglected and delinquent kids who fall into the Department's custody.

I like Gov. Rick. Things are better in Michigan lately. He might even figure out a way to save Detroit from itself. At least he's trying.

Synder has done a lot of good for the state, but he's not a RINO, he's not a career politician which makes his policies more practical than not

Rubio falls in line, Bush I falls in line, Bush II will shortly. Others are moving to Romney. The handwriting was on the wall when he began campaigning.

Personally, if the issue is still in doubt by the time the NM primary arrives, I'm going with Santorum but Romney is going to be the candidate. I don't like him and don't trust him to not slide back into his liberal comfort zone once in office, but compared to the muslim now in the WH, Romney can only be an improvement.
