Michael J. Fox, a local businessman, has recently invested $1 million in a property at 50 N. Tamiami Trail at Second Street. As his introduction to the neighborhood, he has chosen not to crown his highly visible site at the gateway to downtown Sarasota with a sign reading "Welcome to Beautiful Sarasota, Enjoy Your Stay." Rather, he has chosen an alternative welcome in the form of a giant sign reading "Defeat Obama in 2012." That should go a long way toward improving retail sales and increasing room nights.

Oh...who is Ms. Ms Lobo????

Caren Lobo lives in Sarasota and is active in the Democratic Party.

Tee,hee...

Make sure you read the comments on the second page...:biggrin-new:

It's his property. Sales will rise and fall according to how the community feels about the sign.

The letters to the Sarasota Herald Tribune have been hysterical. One lady surely popped a couple of blood vessells, but I think most here agree with the sign.

I don't believe it's the MJF that you think it is.

Her letter is basically a regurgitation of soon-to-be-refuted Obama campaign talking points and an accusation of "rage" against Mr. Fox. It's typical Democratic blather.
