via politico (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0412/74909.html):

Sarah palin has said her “rogue” pick for vice president would be rep. Allen west — and on friday the florida republican said if he does get that call, “if it’s the right fit” he would join the ticket.

But west told cnn he doubts he would be asked to serve as the vice presidential nominee.

“yeah, well, right now, you know, the focus is, of course, being a good congressional representative,” west said. “but if someone were to make that call to me, which i really doubt is ever going to happen, you would have to make sure that it is something that god would ordain for you, and you’d have to talk to your wife, my wife and my two daughters about. But we have always stepped up to the plate to serve our country. And if it’s the right fit, then i will do so.”

Well, one advantage to running West would be that it would split the black vote in two: Obama would get 98%, the rest would be split among West and The Rent is Too Damn High party.:biggrin-new:

But Florida would then go Republican. That's a big problem for Barry & Co.

Like Romney or not, he's not stupid. He's going to be thinking about demographics when he picks his VP, and he also knows that he can pick a VP who will help him improve his image as a conservative.

Allen West would be a great choice. Nikki Haley would as well, but it looks like that's already being ruled out.

Let me say first I whole hardely agree on what he did during the war but there is no way the MSM or obama (I know its redundant) is going to allow him not to get flayed by he exploits in the Army.

I'm not sure that West as Romney's running mate would prevent Obama from winning Florida.

The candidate that will win Florida is the one the majority of voters think will preserve their Social Security best.

How do you figure that?

Well there is a chance that the state with the VP on the ticket may not go to that party, but it ain't much of a chance! Actually, it has happened: Henry Wallace, FDR's VP in 1940, failed to deliver his home state of Iowa.........Go figure...?

That only works if the Presidential candidate wins.

2004, Kerry/Edwards loses North (and South) Carolina. 1996, Dole/Kemp loses New York. 1988, Dukakis/Bentsen lost Texas.

Well ... you get the idea.

And if the state is in play in the first place. None of those were swing states. Kerry had no chance in the Carolinas, Dole had no chance in New York, and Dukakis couldn't have won in Texas if he'd ridden there in a tank.

That is excellent.

You should start a thread on funny campaign pictures.

To hell with the VP slot. Too bad he isn't running!

I like the man because he doesn't mince words. Politicians of today talk out of both sides of their mouth....

Are you talking about his having discharged his firearm in the vicinity of a scumbag who was suspected of having information on what kind of bad guys and the type of ambush that were awaiting him and his troops?

Those are exploits for which he should be "flayed"?

Or perhaps you mean that the MSM will paint that story as being something other than what it was -- a leader in a combat zone who took action to save his troops from an attack that could be prevented. Yeah, they'd do that -- I'll grant you that especially since most of the MSM don't understand "service" and "sacrifice".

The most ridiculous photo in politics. And it cost him dearly.

Yea. I love it.

Here's one of Kerry that was good:
