I think our Navy shouldn't be without an Aircraft Carrier named Enterprise. Why are we wasting one for Ford? This should be a no brainer. Then again I wanted one named WASP and HORNET. :D

Well i dug a little and found out they have chosen a name for it yet so if enough of a stink is raised maybe they will name it enterprise. Come on what President name is left worthy enough to put on a AC?

Considering when it will be commissioned, it will probably be named the Barack H. Obama.

Personally, I still prefer James K. Polk.

Again you are not adding anything but troll bait. No way in hell will they name a fighting ship after that piece of trash thats in the process of gutting their very branch of service. Not to mention that he'll have a decent chance of being in office when commissioned so I doubt they'll name a ship after him.

Someone has to. Lincoln, FDR, Washington, Jefferson, Reagan, all these guys have their advocates. Hell, even Kennedy gets his own cheering section.

James K. Polk (and George H. W. Bush to a lessor, more modern extent) needs to have someone in his corner.

Polk had a submarine named after him, and FT Polk, LA is named for him (which is much cooler than a submarine, which only has a service life of twenty-thirty years). He's also on a dollar coin.

You are correct.

Fort Polk was established in 1941 and named in honor of the Right Reverend Leonidas Polk, the first Episcopal Bishop of the Diocese of Louisiana and a Confederate general.
