Biden says paying more taxes is "patriotic".

I guess in his Socialistic world if you want the government to spend your money rather than yourself then is an act of patriotism.

Biden: Paying higher taxes patriotic for wealthy

WASHINGTON – Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden said Thursday that paying more in taxes is the patriotic thing to do for wealthier Americans. In a new TV ad that repeats widely debunked claims about the Democratic tax plan, the Republican campaign calls Obama's tax increases "painful."

Under the economic plan proposed by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, people earning more than $250,000 a year would pay more in taxes while those earning less — the vast majority of American taxpayers — would receive a tax cut.

Although Republican John McCain claims that Obama would raise taxes, the independent Tax Policy Center and other groups conclude that four out of five U.S. households would receive tax cuts under Obama's proposals.

"We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people," Biden said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America."

Noting that wealthier Americans would indeed pay more, Biden said: "It's time to be patriotic ... time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut."

Socialism = wealth distribution.

How wealthy is wealthy? (Or what does it take to be in the top 5%?)

Why don''t Biden start up a campaign to solicit money from his wealthy friends in the Democratic party and the Hollywood types to donate to the treasury. Soris could kick in a few billions along with those assholes that have tons of money offshore. The IRS would be tickled pink to take their donations. Pretty boy Edwards could kick in a few millions as he developed a legal scheme to avoid payroll taxes.

Socialism = wealth distribution.

Exactly. Marxism in the democratic party raises it's ugly head again.

It shouldn't matter how much a person makes. Penalizing those who make more or who are more productive is bad for the economy. Rewarding those who do nothing is bad for the econmy.

We are a capitalistic society. We are not socialist.

Calling all med school students: Drop out now!!!!!!!

If BO is elected, you will not be able to repay your student loans. You will be "rich", and he doesnt care about what it cost for you to get there. So take my advice, go to nursing school, be "middle class" and let the government take money from the doctors and give it to you.

I prefer to think of the Constitution as the true standard of patriotism -- not mr. Biden, and not the Communist Manifesto. This is a good definition:

"The true patriot is motivated by a sense of responsibility, and out of self interest -- for himself, his family, and the future of his country -- to resist government abuse of power. He rejects the notion that patriotism means obedience to the state."

This sounds like when Stalin told the Kulaks it was patriotic to give their grain to the state.

Wow, I felt great disgust towards the end, when he leaned towards the reporter and grinned. He has a very evil face -- impotent evil, but still evil. I trust the American public will see through this snide prick.

This reminds of this guy who promotes motorcycle rallies around Texas. One of the big events at these things are the fund raising wet t-shirt contests that turn into best boobs contests. There is an admission charge for the wet t-shirt contest and if you want the ladies to bare their boobs completely, you have to chip in for his education charity to raise college money for poor kids. The name of this foundation? "Tits for Tuition!" I shit you not!

Kind of in the same vein as Taxes for Patriotism but instead of your money getting confiscated, you wind up handing it over happily.

Willingness to "Impose Catholic Beliefs" Apparently Just a Matter of Priorities for Sen. Biden
Sen. Biden claims that higher taxes are not just a patriotic duty, but also his duty as a Catholic to impose:

Fired up in a room full of union members, Joe Biden angrily defended both his ticket’s tax plan and his own claim that tax hikes for the rich are patriotic, while urging fellow Democrats to stand their ground on what he said was a values debate.

Biden, speaking to members of the Laborers International Union of North America, began by saying that there is “no disagreement” between John McCain and Barack Obama on the need for tax cuts. The real issue, he said, is who gets them.

“Catholic social doctrine as I was taught it is, you take care of people who need the help the most,” he said. “Now it’d be different if you could make the case to me that by giving this tax cut to the very wealthy, everybody else was going to be better off. We saw what happened the last eight years when we gave that tax cut.”
So, let me get this straight. Sen. Biden, who has repeatedly stated his reluctance to "impose his Catholic beliefs" on others when it comes to protecting the unborn, appears to have no qualms about invoking his Catholic faith to justify his desire to confiscate other people's money to enrich the government coffers. Nice priorities you got there, Sen. Biden.

Never mind that Catholic social teaching says next to nothing about tax policy (as opposed to, say, stressing the duty of politicians to work to restrict abortion). And never mind that, if Sen. Biden believes so strongly in taking care of people who need help the most, then his giving ALMOST NOTHING to charity certainly is a strange way of showing it.

It is, and it was coined by a brilliant economist with a penchant for underestimating foreign threats to our national security.

Congressional leaders said after meeting Thursday evening with Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke that as much as $1 trillion could be needed to avoid an imminent meltdown of the U.S. financial system.

Come on, Soros is backing Obama's entire campaign. With all the money he's going to have to dump in it the next 40 days, he's going to feel plenty patriotic. He might even wear a flag pin. :)
