Spitzer asked Behar if she was registered as a Democrat or a Republican, to which she replied, “Oh, Democrat. One of the reasons I wanted to be on Current TV is because Al Gore owns the station,” she said.

Behar explained that she’s “still ticked off about the 2000 election. I’m still ticked off at the Supreme Court because that was not an election, it was a decision.”

Spitzer jokingly suggested “anger management.”

“It’s been eleven years,” he said, before conceding that he, too, is still a little hacked off about it, “It was a tipping point for our country. It was a tipping point for our respect for the Supreme Court. It could be the single worst modern Supreme Court decision. It was partisan, it was wrong.”

I know, I know, rawstory (snort) but I googled it and current.com confirmed it. And Eliot Spitzer? cripe

The DUmmie responses are precious. My favorite:

8. Ticked off?!?!

More like so pissed off, if I ever personally met anyone of the bass turds who was responsible for that, the biggest travesty of justice in our country's history, I would personally tar and feather him or her!

I am just as mad, if not madder than I was in 2000.

Things usually get better after such an injustice. It's been 11 years, and things have gotten so much worse, I see our country circling the drain, becoming more a fascist police state each and every day!
Does this guy and or girl know that their guy is president?

Will Joy Behar and her ilk ever wake up and smell the coffee? Bush won the 2000 election fair and square! The votes in Florida were recountd ad nauseum, but the Democrats kept coming up with more reasons why it wasn't good enough until they finally ran out of time before the Electoral College had to meet and pick the winner. The Supreme Court made absolutely the right decision, but there are always going to be those whining Democrats who refuse to accept the fact that they lost a close election.

I just saw your post, and I just posted a reply to another post where I think you'll find most of the answer to your question. In a nutshell, that is. There were a lot of challenges on both sides before it finally got to the Supreme Court where it was finally settled.

I hope your questions about 2000 got answered.. just thought I'd share a link from after the election that shows what a hypocrite algore is and the stats on the house in Crawford, TX where Bush lived and how energy efficient it was. Note that you probably never heard of it because the MSM protected algore.

Perhaps algore should ask George W Bush for help in making his house more energy efficient (http://www.practicalenvironmentalist.com/energy-efficiency/perhaps-al-gore-should-ask-george-w-bush-for-help-in-making-his-house-more-energy-efficient.htm)

We also have to remember that our dear Miss Joy thinks America stops at the Hudson River, and how shocked she was when she found out that Gov. Palin existed; " Alaska? What part of Manhatten is that? "

That's a classic example of Behar's snarky ethnocentric humor (and I use the word "humor" loosely).

Watch her face when she's on "The View". I've never seen such hate filled looks in my life. She must be a very unhappy person. The poison just oozes from her every pore. (If The View comes on, I generally turn off the set---other times I watch, that old know your enemy thing). She is one nasty woman.

Nasty and totally closed-minded.

Sorry to tell you Phil, I wrote that line.

After watching the VIEW a few times, Miss Joy didn't have much warmth in her heart for anyone who didn't live on her beloved island. Woody Allen didn't much care for fly over country either,
but at least he was honest when he said in an interview that he thought New York was America; explains why he only goes to Europe, or every now and then Hollywood.

The controversy was that some major news networks called Florida for Gore before the polls even closed which some believe prompted some potential Bush voters from wasting their time. However, once precincts were being counted it was looking like Bush was not only gaining votes but it looked like he would take the lead. After the votes were counted, Bush had won but by a very slim margin and IIRC that margin fell into the automatic recount area. A recount was done and not only did it show that Bush still won, but he gained voted. Gore then sued for another recount and Bush won that recount as well. Gore wanted another, however, he only wanted voted recounted in heavy Democratic districts. He also didn't want absentee ballots from our military to be counted. It was at this point that the Supreme Court stepped in and said that either all votes be recounted or the election be called complete with Bush the winner of the Florida electoral votes giving him the presidency. Gore chose to concede instead of furthering his suit. This is the cliffnotes version but you should read up on it more thoroughly elsewhere. The funny thing is that I read somewhere that with both candidates lawsuits, Gore's suit would essentially give Bush the win while it was said that if Bush's counter suit would have won, Gore would have won the election. All of that said, there wouldn't have been any controversy had Gore carried his home state of Tennessee.

Well, NY is the home of the woman who couldn't understand how Nixon could have won because she didn't know anyone who voted for him even though Nixon won 49 states.

You never hear these assholes knock the networks calling it for gore before the heavily conservative panhandle closed its polls, oh you never hear them bring that up...

That was essential and you're right. The left is strangely silent on that.

Joy Behar: ‘I’m still ticked off about the 2000 election’I'm ticked off that such a glum, bitter person could call themselves "Joy." I'm ticked off that such a no talent hack named Joy Blowhard is given a platform to spew her stupidity.

All of that said, there wouldn't have been any controversy had Gore carried his home state of Tennessee.Tennesseans already knew what a complete imbecile Gore was and rejected him. Gore is a pathetic copy of his Socialist old man, a hypocrite of monumental proportions, and a lying pretender.

Why FL voters didn't see that is a mystery to me. The only way it was close is all the idiot northern leftists that migrated to FL voted the same idiocy that they created in the states they fled.

Fore many NYers, they think that they are the Alpha & Omega when comes to all things American; Maybe one day they see that the rest of the country does not worship them. It like that stupid commeral where the couple go on vaction and every one in America is a NYer :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Back in 1976, the New Yorker ragged on this worldview with a very funny cover:

Joy Behar is one of those people who equates anger with depth. She is perpetually irritated, and I doubt that she spends much time with people who don't think exactly the way that she does, or who are secure enough in their jobs to express any contrary thoughts.
