It might be heading toward Texas, but pretty soon we're going to need an ark in Sarasota. The poor dogs wonder when they can go out without getting drenched.

Lots of tornados popping up all around us, north and south. Looks like they will
all miss at this point. Not uncommon during a TS...

Small tornados all over the place, mostly north of us. There was probably a waterspout near the SkyWay bridge. Strong hook echo but it's gone now...

Another band of heavy rain going thru at the moment. I don't think I'll have to worry about watering the lawn this week!!!:biggrin-new:

Girl Found Alive In Dead Mom’s Arms After Tornado Throws Them From Home (http://tampa.cbslocal.com/2012/06/26/girl-found-alive-in-dead-moms-arms-after-tornado-throws-them-from-home/)

VENUS, Fla. (CBS Tampa/AP) — A 3-year-old girl was found alive in her dead mother’s arms after the two were thrown hundreds of feet from their Venus home during a tornado spawned by Tropical Storm Debby.

Heather Town, 32, died Sunday when her Highlands County home was lifted off its foundation and she and her daughter, Anne Marie, were thrown 200 feet into nearby woods, according to multiple reports. The mother was found clutching the child, who survived.

“I am so proud of my daughter,” Elmer Town, Heather’s father, told WGRZ-TV. “I can picture her holding that little girl of hers. She died for her.” Town added that his granddaughter suffered a broken pelvis and broken ribs.

The two were covered in debris and barbed wire when found.

“When they found her, she was literally holding her baby, her little girl,” neighbor Kim Bass told WTVT-TV. “They took the little child from her because she was having a hard time breathing and she had barbed wire on her and was in a very dense section of woods, about 50 feet back there.”

Heather Town died at the scene. Anne Marie is currently in stable condition at Tampa General Hospital. >>>

“We’re not expecting the storm to intensify,” said Ernie Jillson, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Tampa, early Tuesday. “We’re expecting it to stay a fairly weak tropical storm.”

Its oftentime the tornadoes that "dance" around these storms that are the most prolific danger.

Yep, we had tornado warnings constantly for nearly 2 days. We had several waterspouts sighted
north and south of us.

Usually these twisters are weak F0 or F1s but they can still do a lot of damage to
mobil homes.

There was a older mobil home ripped apart not too far from us. No tornado but the
winds must have hit it just right. Looked like the carport was ripped off and then
their roof peeled away. Those things are deathtraps, the older ones are just POS.
