Someone tried to compare health care costs to the cost of "military and wars," saying that those of us criticizing Obamacare have no problem with our tax dollars going towards the latter. Well, let's look at the costs, shall we?

In 2007, the Congressional Budget Office released an estimate (a guess) that the Iraq war would cost $2.4 trillion by 2017. That war began in 2003, so if that estimate holds up, that would be around $141.2 billion per year.

Here's a news article that places the cost of all recent wars in the Middle East at $3.3-4.7 trillion through June 2011:

Now, how much to Americans spend on health care?

Currently about $2.4 trillion A YEAR. I think it's pretty clear that the comparison is fundamentally flawed.
