View Full Version : Obama's Birthday Blues

Apparently, according to the Obama campaign, the most critical issue facing the nation is the possibility that this will be the last birthday that Obama gets to celebrate in the White House. Really.

The latest fundraising e-mail from Team Obama:

Katrina –
My upcoming birthday next week could be the last one I celebrate as President of the United States, but that’s not up to me — it’s up to you.

This July deadline is our most urgent yet, coming after two consecutive months of being significantly outraised by Romney and the Republicans.

And if you pitch in $3 or whatever you can before midnight tonight, you and a guest will be automatically entered to join me at my birthday get-together next month:

Thanks. Hope I’ll see you soon.

- Barack
If you are on the Obama fundraising e-mail list, you may have gotten a vague hunch by now that Obama’s birthday is coming up. By my count, I have received eight e-mails in the last two weeks centered on Obama’s birthday, the first from Michelle Obama on June 16, telling me, “Barack turns 51 next month, and there will be a little celebration at our house in Chicago.” On June 17, Obama campaign finance director Rufus Gifford e-mailed, “Have you ever gotten to do something so cool you’re almost jealous of yourself? Pretty sure this would count: On August 12th, just three weeks before the Democratic National Convention and 12 weeks before Election Day, President Obama will have a few friends over to mark his 51st birthday — in the backyard of his Chicago home.”

On the following day, Obama e-mailed me: “Next month is my 51st birthday, and I’d like to invite you to celebrate what we’ve accomplished and what’s to come — with me and some friends at my house in Chicago.” About five hours later, Nancy Pelosi joined the chorus, writing, “It’s nearly President Obama’s birthday!” and asking me to sign a birthday card for Obama.

Four days passed, and then the Obama campaign e-mailed, “Want to celebrate President Obama’s birthday with him — at the Obamas’ house in Chicago?” The next day, Joe Biden e-mailed about Obama’s birthday with the subject line: “Trust me — you’ll have fun.” (No mention of whether Obama’s birthday should be a considered a BFD or not, though.) Yesterday, Obama deputy campaign manager Julianna Smoot wrote, “I’m no good at singing ‘Happy Birthday.’ I hope you’re better, because the President’s inviting two grassroots donors and their guests to celebrate his birthday with him at his home in Chicago on August 12th.”

Get the message much? And isn’t Obama a little old — he’s turning 51 here, not 5 — to be this excited about a birthday?

As always, Hope and Change Cartoons gets to the crux of the matter:

You Say It's Your Birthday (http://hopenchangecartoons.blogspot.com/2012/07/you-say-its-your-birthday.html)

For the eighth time in recent days, Barack Obama has written to supporters to remind them that the most serious issue facing America is his upcoming birthday (http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/312408/obama-my-upcoming-birthday-could-be-last-one-i-celebrate-president-katrina-trinko). And what makes this cake and balloon-filled celebration so serious?

"My upcoming birthday next week could be the last one I celebrate as President of the United States (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3kQk-lgFRI)."

Also, he might not get a pony for his birthday because Ann Romney owns them all. That's a fact, and you can look it up on the Internet if you doubt us.

But despite being faced with the nightmarish prospect of celebrating future birthdays like every other human being on Earth, Barack Barry Hussein Soetoro Obama is making the best of a bad situation and selling $3 lottery tickets to let some lucky peon attend a birthday party "with me and some friends at my house in Chicago." Specifically, in the backyard.

But just imagine the great time you could have and the "friends" you could meet at that cookout!

Hey, there's Bill Ayers pouring something very, very, very flammable on the grill, and Bernadine Dohrn assembling a detonator! Care for a cold beer? Ask Professor Henry Gates to limp over and grab one for you! Want to make small talk with Barry's Pee Wee Hermanish neighbor Louis Farrakhan? Just ask him about "Jews" and he'll go on longer than the Energizer bunny!

Chicago mayor Rahm Emmanuel will be there, snarfing burgers because he's boycotting chicken. And because Mark Rezko helped pay for the property you're partying on, he'll be bringing a big birthday cake...assuming it's first delivered to him in prison and has a hacksaw inside.

All in all, it's a lot of entertainment that some lucky lottery winner will get for just $3.

Unless, of course, Eric Holder stops them at the door for not presenting a photo ID.

Would you prefer your burger rare, like his kept promises,
or well-done, like nothing Barry has ever accomplished?

On top of all of that, Marilyn Monroe isn't available to sing happy birthday to him. Oh, the humanity....

Who would send out such a message unless they weren't convinced of their ability to win?

Well, he can't run on his ability to run the country that's for sure. :evil-grin:
