At one time, I read some article or something about how offensive it was to African-Americans for homosexuals to compare their fight for what they falsely imagine to be "equal rights" to the civil rights movement in this country. This is why states that have put amendments recognizing only traditional marriage up to a vote have found that African-Americans largely vote in favor of them.

Anyway, I can't find where I read this. Can anyone else help?

If you want to really piss off a black person tell them the gay marriage movement is no different than the civil rights movement.
