During live coverage of the Republican National Convention here in Tampa, an ABC News employee provided the perfect example of the pervasive anti-Republican bias Mitt Romney faces in his bid to unseat President Barack Obama.

In video broadcast Monday night by ABC over the internet, an ABC News employee can be heard claiming that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife Ann are unconcerned about the fate of residents of the New Orleans area who are currently being hit by Hurricane Isaac.

“They aren’t concerned at all,” the person says on tape. “They are happy to have a party when black people drown.”

That line elicits laughter from several employees listening in on the joke.

From the audio, it appears the person was talking to an unknown individual named “John” who presumably was making additional jokes at the expense of Ann Romney although such jokes cannot be heard on the clip.

http://youtu.be/b4NGPLoVNsA

The anti-Romney joke was made while the person, presumably an ABC News producer, was on an active microphone, apparently unaware that his/her quips against the former Massachusetts governor were being recorded and broadcast live.

Unmentioned by the ABC News jokester is the fact that the Republican National Committee canceled the entirety of Monday's program or that President Obama did not cancel any of his regularly scheduled campaign fund-raising parties that night.
No surprises here.

If the foot eater truly believes that the Republicans don't care and are partying while people are drowning then how much worse it is that Obama is begging for money while people are dying?

Exaggeration is all the left has. New Orleans isn't having a fairly routine (for New Orleans) hurricane. No. Black people are 'drowning'.

John Kerry never appeared on Fox News. Later, after he lost the election, he said that that was a mistake, and that he should have appeared. I agree with him.
Geraldo Rivera said just last week that he could not get an interview with Barack Obama.

ABC News is barely on the register of effective reporting. People don't care what ABC says. For the most part they don't care what CNN reports, either. But that's all Barry has going for him.

UPDATE: YAHOO News confirms: David Chalian "terminated effective immediately"

Chalian was the nitwit who made the comment.

Is there any outrage? I know it's not the same but Akin makes a stupid, ignorant remark all hell breaks loose. An anti-Romney remark by a 'reporter', not so much.

One difference is that Chalian lost his job over his remark. Akin didn't give up his candidacy after his.

She has a problem with Akin not leaving the election and she is not about to let it go, he was uniformed and shouldn't have made the comments he did, most people agree he was talking about something he didn't understand.

Actually Linda, he's right. Maybe not for you but for the "women's movement" in general, he's right or it wouldn't be such a hot button issue with the left.

Of course not. Liberal solidarity is only expressed when it doesn't cost anything. Besides, Ifil didn't really consider the "joke" a mistake. She considered his saying it where it could be overheard by the hoi polloi to be the real error. The number of other media and political figures who have said the same things is off the charts:

Barkin mad: Actress hopes hurricane kills ‘every pro-life’ SOB; Cher hopes Akin gets raped

Mon Aug 27 4:17 PM EST
August 27, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In the aftermath of the Family Research Council shooting, prominent voices on the Left have not tapped down their violent rhetoric against their opponents. Two Baby Boomer celebrities have taken to Twitter to hope pro-life, pro-family individuals and U.S. Congressman Todd Akin suffer a drowning or a same-sex rape, respectively.
http://www.lifesitenews.com/images/sized/images/news/EllenBarkinLookingOld-250PX-150x168.jpg
On Sunday, Ellen Barkin expressed her hope that Tropical Storm Isaac would smash up the Republican National Convention in Tampa and drown all its delegates.
She retweeted the message of one of her followers (https://twitter.com/HighwayStarrrr/statuses/239856021063991297) that read: “C’mon #Isaac! Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean! #RNC ” Barkin did not express any disagreement in her retweet.
The storm is expected to grow (http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/27/us/tropical-storm-isaac/index.html) into a Category 1 hurricane before slamming into the Gulf Coast on Wednesday, the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
After a number of followers asked if it was not extreme to wish death upon one’s political opponents, Barkin instead blamed the website Twitchy, which is owned by Michelle Malkin, for reporting the tweet. However, as Twitchy pointed out in response, it hadn’t yet reported the event (http://twitchy.com/2012/08/27/actress-ellen-barkin-retweets-wish-for-isaac-to-wash-pro-lifers-out-to-sea-blames-twitchy/).
Strong language about abortion – that of Senate candidate Todd Akin – also inspired Cher to call for the congressman to be raped by an AIDS victim. The Sixties warbler and mother of transgender “son” Chaz Bono tweeted (http://twitchy.com/2012/08/25/cher-it-would-be-karma-if-todd-akin-got-raped-by-a-man-with-hiv) that it would be an act of “kama” - presumably karma - if the Missouri congressman would “get raped by man with HIV/AIDS. Nothing will happen, right? Body shuts down as defense mechanism.”

Barkin is one of the stars of The New Normal, a sitcom about how wonderful liberals are, especially if they are gay, and how awful and bigoted conservatives are. I have no doubt that she will not be penalized by her network for these comments.

http://twitchy.com/2012/08/29/sick-wikipedia-entry-calls-mia-love-dirty-worthless-whore-and-house-******/
Tuesday night after rising GOP star Mia Love brought down the house with her inspiring convention speech, the stomach-turning Left labeled the black conservative a “token” and an “Aunt Tom.” (http://twitchy.com/2012/08/28/mia-love-gives-star-making-speech-at-rnc-left-sees-gop-token/)
Meanwhile, revoltingly racist, woman-hating Wikipedia vandals were hard at work updating her entry with disgusting slurs like “House ******” and “dirty, worthless whore.” (http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/08/haters-hijack-mia-loves-wikipedia-page-call-her-a-whore/) The page called her a “total sell-out to the Right Wing Hate machine and the greedy bigots who control the GOP.”
Glenn Reynolds reported the defacement of Love’s Wikipedia page last night (http://pjmedia.com/instapundit/149659/).

The pathological hatred expressed towards reasoned dissent by the left never fails to amaze me.

Well, that is understandable. And yes, I agree with wanting to throw something at the TV while watching some things. That is why I don't watch much MSNBC, or a football game being commentated by Phil Simms. ..

Part of the appeal of leftist politics is that it separates the left from everybody else. It's a high school clique with political pretentions.

You have to admit that for some feminists (and their male supporters), abortion is the be-all and end-all of their political philosophy.
