"I have my beautiful wife, Ann; he has Bill Clinton.”
From Mitt Romney's witty bag of personal attacks at tonight's Al Smith dinner.

This bothered me on so many levels. The mean spirited attack, the laughter from the audience, the wine guzzling Katie Couric eating this up in the backround . . . truly there is no bottom to the barrel.

14. It was pretty rude to Michelle Obama
Like Lawrence O'Donnell said tonight, Mitt's jokes were mean-spirited towards Obama whereas Obama mostly poked fun at himself.
What would Sean Hannity be saying tonight if Obama had talked about having his beautiful wife Michelle while Mitt had John Sununu to come home to?
Mean spirited? The left can dish it out but they sure can't take even the most gentle of pokes.

Obama hit the right notes, Romney failed
Obama made fun of Joe, Chris, Axelrod, himself many times, in fact, himself more than anyone, and was courteous and gentlemanly, admiring Romney as a good family man and loving husband, with whom he had differences.
Romney never lost the opportunity to take a dig at him.
This was a church dinner.
I'd say Romney struck out. He has an "un" that is indifferent to all the "un's" mentioned by the Archbishop - "unsympathetic."
Hope nobody's getting tired of me saying this, but "Gee, I love Obama."

6. Romney was worse than catty. He was an ass.
ASS!!!!
Sorry for screaming, but the man is the worst kind of arrogant, haughty, condescending, self-important ass possible for a man to be. They love it when Obama disses Republicans, when Republican's diss Obama...not so much.

5. Romney hates Obama with every fiber of his being, Obama does not hate!
How to make the American people see the difference and reject Romney and his brand of hate.

10. It is supposed to be self-depreciating - that is the context at Al Smith
Whoever wrote Romney's lines was stuck in Comedy Central Roast genre. I give Willard credit - he delivered his lines well (and it was funny), but not in the spirit of the dinner.

17. Exactly what I was going to say Ruby
he deserves just a bit of credit because the jokes were (I thought) very funny and I laughed out loud a few times.(and they were out of place as Ruby said)
Not only that, Mr. Romney said something very beautiful about the Obama family toward the end.
I'll get back to being thoroughly disgusted with him tommorow.

15. In the alternate fox world they think rmoney was hilarious and Obama flat.
The right wingers are so far gone they view things so differently because they have been programmed subliminally by fox and right wing radio. Words and phases etched in their brains daily by repetition. They don't realize it.
