Bill Clinton: "McCain asked to postpone debate in good faith, and McCain had (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x7179728)

asked for town hall meetings over the summer, and Obama didn't comply."

Is this true? I just clicked over to Faux News, and that is what they were saying.

wow.

Here's the article (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/09/bill-clinton-do.html) that's got em all worked up this time:

Bill Clinton: Don't 'Overly Parse' McCain Request to Delay Debate (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/09/bill-clinton-do.html)
September 25, 2008 8:26 AM

ABC News' Nitya Venkataraman Reports: Former President Bill Clinton defended Sen. John McCain's request to delay the first presidential debate, saying McCain did it in "good faith" and pushed organizers to reserve time for economy talk during the debate if the Friday plans move forward.

<<Snip<<

"We know he didn't do it because he's afraid because Sen. McCain wanted more debates," Clinton said, adding that he was "encouraged" by the joint statement from McCain and Sen. Barack Obama.

"You can put it off a few days the problem is it's hard to reschedule those things," Clinton said, "I presume he did that in good faith since I know he wanted -- I remember he asked for more debates to go all around the country and so I don't think we ought to overly parse that."

And more threads on this topic:

ABC: Bill Clinton defends McCain, praises Bush's economic speech. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x7179939)

I'm writing to Hillary, telling her I'll NEVER vote for her if she doesn't straighten Bill out. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x7180706)

Props to LL for that last link.

Feel free to and more links to this thread as they're posted.

I'm writing to Hillary, telling her I'll NEVER vote for her if she doesn't straighten Bill out.

She'll vote for Hillary in 2012 or she'll have to vote Republican. No way is Hillary letting the nomination get away from her again. I'm really looking forward to that bloodbath.

Poll question: Do you believe Bill Clinton is trying to undemine the Obama campaign?

I know this is a controversial topic, but I would like to see what proportions users of DU believe or disbelieve in.

I would appreciate it if I could just get an anonymous yes/no/not sure vote, and no discussions or citations of specific incidents to support or refute your belief.

Mods, please do not lock, as my intent is in no way to flamebait or troll. I do not want or need a discussion on the topic, just a vote. I just want to know how many think he is and how many think he isn't. I only want to know this out of my own curiosity (and I assume others are similarly curious). I'm not out to prove anything, only to learn. I firmly believe that majority beliefs are in no way indicative of truth.

Thank you all in advance for your cooperation.

Poll result (5 votes)

Bill Clinton was on The View the other day and he said that if it weren't for John McCain then he never would have been able to normalize relations with Vietnam while he was POTUS.

I'm sure the radical lefties at The View weren't happy with that revelation.

Which is true. It just shows how stupid they are that they didn't know that already.

Everyone talks about "Chicago Thug Politics." That ain't got shit on SOUTHERN Politics and how down in the mud, vicious, cut throat or backstabbing it is. Chicago politics is for amatuers.

So as it stands, Bill will keep "helping" Barry in just this way or Obama tosses him off of the campaign either way he gets reamed. "The One" has done nothing but made enemies of those he needs to win and is going to realize it a week before the election. Not only will Obana lose, the Clintons will make sure he is destroyed as far as ever being taken seriously as a Presidential candidate again.

So do we like Bill Clinton now?

No. He's just chatting up John MCCain in order to gain votes for him -
which in turn will give his wife a better shot at having a run in 2012.

Don't worry - We see through him.
