He had a great line in his biography that I've always admired, which was "Never pass a mistake." He demanded that his officers and Soldiers keep each other straight and not to ignore problems. It's great advice that has served well. RIP.

Another good thing about him is that after he retired he didn't sell out to the left for popularity, like so many other generals have done in the past (Powell, Clark etc) thats why you haven't heard much from him. IMHO.
