Shale oil, gas boom has forced rethink of energy policy

Hydraulic fracturing, or "fracking," has blasted massive new supplies of oil and natural gas from shale rock deep beneath the earth. After decades of policies built around being dependent on imports of foreign oil, lawmakers and the administration are grappling with whether and how to allow more exports.

The United States could surpass Saudi Arabia as the world's top oil producer by 2017, and within years could become a net exporter of natural gas.

"We're not glossing over the challenges of natural gas development, but we're also not ignoring the opportunity natural gas presents for jobs and for the climate," she said.

The White House recognizes the impact oil and natural gas production has had on the economy, creating jobs and bringing manufacturing operations from companies like Dow Chemical Co and Ford Motor Co back from overseas, Zichal said. <portions snipped>Welcome to the world of "what conservatives have been telling you for 40 years you dolts".

I guess the old windmill on top of the car for propulsion trick didn't materialize as well as Barry thought it would. Who knew? That's right...every person that's not an idiot.

Can you imagine? Cheap energy actually has benefits. Companies want to do business in a place where they are not hamstrung by energy needs. Energy, the one thing our economy is built on, actually brings jobs, affords expansion and is an overall benefit to society.

In spite of every socialist program, agenda or idea this administration puts forth, industry and capitalism still manage to find a way. Thank Shiva Barry isn't as bright as everyone thinks he is or who knows the damage he could do. When Barry was golfing with those Big Oil guys the other day didn't the DUmmies tell us it was because Barry wanted to tell them face-to-face that alternative energy was his goal and not oil/gas? hahahahahaha. Suck it.

Turns out Sarah Palin was right. I hope she gloats about it. (http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/02/28/obama-energy-idUSL1N0BRH9620130228?feedType=RSS&feedName=governmentFilingsNews&rpc=43)

Barry is a moron ... He has shown time and time again that he is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

It doesn't fit in with his world view that's why.

From the story ...

Zichal said the decision-making process is in the hands of the State Department. The project has been stalled for years pending a decision by the administration.

So marsh mellow balls still hasnt made up his mind? Hm ...
