Billionaire Bill Gates blasts capitalism saying that it's the reason why research for 'male baldness gets more funding than malaria'

By Daily Mail Reporter

Billionaire Bill Gates criticized capitalism saying that it causes fundraising efforts to go to trivial issues that bother rich people a opposed to global health epidemics that are devastating the poor.

The Microsoft founder was speaking at a conference about his latest philanthropic push to end malaria, saying that it gets slighted in terms of funding because the ones with the checkbooks are typically men in wealthy countries.

'The malaria vaccine in humanist terms is the biggest need. But it gets virtually no funding. But if you are working on male baldness or other things you get an order of magnitude more research funding because of the voice in the marketplace than something like malaria,' he said.

True capitalism is an engine that allows all people to compete for material wealth and success. Gates is one of the rarified group of billionaires that "has his" and doesn't want the rest of us to get there.

I always find it funny when a person who got filthy rich from capitalism blasts it. I find it even more funny that people can be as stupid is he is .. Wow ...

All this talk about how Bill Gates is so smart. He isn't smart at all. He dropped out of college his freshman year and been riding off of other people doing his work his whole career. He didn't write any of the code for any of his programs. He stole the windows code from xerox and had someone else write it for him because he doesn't even know what binary code is!

You want to end malaria? Bring back DDT.
Of course not so many people dying increase carbon emissions and the DDT will not only kill mosquitoes but pests that feed on agricultural crops as well and people will not die of starvation as often, so it is a twofer against for the progressive side.

I have also noticed that Gates' cry against capitalism does not apply to his own products. Just think how much money would be available for research if there was only 1 version of Windows version of the month and doctors, labs and research facilities did not have to pay extra to get the business ultimate gold plated edition which is already included in the basic version, just unlocked for an additional fee of a couple hundred per authorized user.

You want to end malaria? Bring back DDT.That's all it will take. Lay that shit down and it's bye-bye bugs. :biggrin-new:

And as to Gates rant? There can not be a person in the world that would take him seriously regarding that rant. His money is making him cuckoo.

No. He simply got his and doesn't want you to get yours. The system made him wealthy beyond all measure. Now he wants to prevent everyone else from doing the same.

Okay, billionaire complains that capitalism causes rich people (like him) to give to trivial causes instead of his cause? That's not the fault of capitalism, that's the fault of billionaires (like him) having their own priorities.

And, let's remember that it was capitalism that gave us DDT, and socialist environmentalism that valued whatever it was that Rachel Carson cared about over African children.
