Another Democrat makes a huge misstatement on facts and reality.Bloomberg backed congressional candidate states concealed carriers failed Aurora shooting victims (VIDEO)
In what seems like an endless stream of politicians shooting themselves in the foot this week, Robin Kelly a Democrat running for Jesse Jackson Jr’s vacated Illinois Congressional seat, stated concealed carry to be useless as no one in the Aurora, Colorado movie theater was able to take down shooter James Holmes with their concealed carry firearm.

The one minor issue with what she said was that the Aurora Cinemark theater was a ‘gun free zone’ that did not allow concealed carriers in attendance. Currently a joint lawsuit is in progress by a number of victims families claiming the theater failed to provide ample security to its patrons. Some even believe Holmes may have specifically targeted the theater due to its ban on guns.

Robin Kelly, who is a staunch opponent of guns rights, caught the attention of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Independence USA PAC, which donated $2 million to her campaign. She has also received an endorsement from President Obama.

Is there any level of stupidity, mendacity, criminality of moral obtuseness below which a person will not be nominated by the Democratic Party for higher office?

Nailed it as always, Odysseus. Being armed would have guaranteed nothing except perhaps a fighting chance. But a gun free zone guarantees no chance at all.

I also didn't know that it was the responsibility of all C&C holders to protect the public. I thought that was the job of the police?

I stopped at a 7-11 somewhere in the Middle. I can't recall if it was New Mexico or Texas. As I am walking in to go to the restroom, I see on the door a little sign that says "gun free zone". I thought it was funny... and stupid. I also didn't care what it said so I went inside anyway. I leave the gun in the car when I go to the post office (and don't really understand that either) but not when I go into corner stores. After the incident in Palmghetto http://www.amnation.com/vfr/archives/018268.html I can't imagine anyone not taking his gun into a movie house.

Not even the very highest level.

If the police had the ability to be everywhere there would be no need for CC permits.
