JB ...

Must admit I've never had it the way Pat45 made it, but okra can be delicious and *crispy* if cut into half inch rounds, dipped in slightly beaten egg, and then coated in highly seasoned cornmeal, and fried in oil.

Still ... Pat's dish looks good to me, especially the salami, olives, and asparagus!

Thats pickled okra! Good stuff. I like it breaded and fried too. If you ever come across Wickles brand pickled anything it is wicked!!

By the way, down here in Flahdidah, we can go into any convience store and get fried okra, gizzards, livers and berled peanuts! All great drivin foods! :biggrin-new:

Ooh! Didn't realize that. Would be good then served cold.

Don't laugh, but do they make pickled pigs feet, as well? They are delicious and very hard to find.

And yes, if you must know, being English, we folks have eaten the darndest stuff! :biggrin-new:

Ever tried sliced and fried "blood sausage" sometimes called "black pudding" with bacon and eggs? It too, is delicious!

Now let's see what JB would think of that. :evil-grin:

I was just poking my friend p45, besides, look at all the action on his thread now. He should be thanking me.

Yuck!!!

Boiled peanuts should be tossed into the garbage ... not eaten.
