Time for hubby and I to choose...health care or food.
Advertisements [?]We struggle every month to pay the bills and put food on the table for the 4 of us, and now, it's become a choice between keeping health insurance or eating. It's plain to see that we have to eat, and just have to hope that we or our children get sick. Ain't that a kick in the pants?

Our salaries have not gone up in the last few years, but all of our expenses have. I refuse to live on credit cards (we don't have any) and we have already moved to a less expensive home, share a motorcycle ride to and from work. We have had to move our children to a less desirable neighborhood and weaker school system.

We were once middle-class, but were fast falling to lower class.

Thank you, George B*sh.

PS...I hope my kids take a liking to cat food.

WTF????

Well, if she's giving up the insurance for food there should be no reason to feed the kids cat food.

And the Drama Queen award goes to .....

If you didn't live beyond your means and decided to shop at Wal-Mart like the rest of common folk, maybe you wouldn't be in the fix you are today.

But, no.

You decided to live the Moonbat life style and shop at the most expensive places to avoid the unenlightened rabble, eat out all the time because you're too good to cook at home and give your childs every thing they yelled for and more.

Bush didn't do a thing to you .... you did it yourself but, being a Moonbat you don't have the brains , or guts to look into a mirror for the sourse of your problems.

No, instead you went on DU and threw yourself a pity party rather the look for a solution to your woes.

As someone at work said the other day; BOO HO BITCH!

You f*ck up so stop waiting for the good fairy to make you happy. The sooner you grow up and stop listening to the insane people on DU that have no life, the better off you'll be.

I know you don't want to hear anything harsh, but maybe that's been the problem all along.

A kick in the ass, instead of a shoulder to cry on is what you need right now.

And if you need extra money, go pick up cans along the road; its what I did when I was broke.

No comments on brining parasites into the world yet from out dummie friends? Maybe she ment that she was going to have to feed the kids cats...... That is cat food right?

Maybe one of the adults should get a second job or something.

Damn Bush......what are they going to say if Obama is elected and every corporation in the country relocates because of the increase of taxes.

Hussien will not give them "tax breaks" if they move work out of the country.

They won't need them, because they'll be paying "employees", 25 cents an hour.

Want's to feed the kids catfood but obviously has enough money to have a computer and internet access - and enough time on her hands to play at the DUMP.

Pathetic parent.

2 lbs lentils - $2 @ Wal-Mart
1 lb cheap sausage - $ 1.50 @ Wal-Mart
Brown and drain the sausage. Pick and wash lentils.
Add to sausage, cover with water, add some black pepper
and onion.

Heat to boiling, simmer 1 hour or until tender.

Feeds 4 people at least 3 times...for $3.50

It's good enough for us "rich repigs."

Actually, cat food would cost more AND possibly cause you to need that health insurance.

Then there's the food banks and churches. Lots of people are willing to help out those who are struggling.

There's no doubt that some people are hurting, but that's always been true. She ought to be spending her time seeking out community resourses instead of whining at the DUMP.

Actually this is worse than whining because the whole purpose is not to simply to say poor me..now what do I do? The purpose is to blame President Bush.

It makes me wonder if this is true or simply another kind of bouncy.

7. The time has come for American to buy health insurance in developing
countries. There are very good university hospitals in many developing countries and you can deal with medical problems overseas for 1/100th of the costs. Third world countries have insurance? Who knew? And I wonder what the cost of transportation, food, and a passport will cost as an addition to the costs?

8. You forgot the most important thing...
...sending 700 billion to bail out the very people who helped to put you in that situation to begin with. I wonder if this DUMMY knows that Obama is saying that McCain had NOTHING to do with the bail out agreementbut that he was instrumental in the process (he's probably lying), and he fully supports it and is proud of what he did?

103. i just had the same problem with my teen-age son.... I didn't want
to shame in into thinking he's not normal, because he is. I had his father talk to him and explain that it's not something he needs to do on the computer. Of course, it was not "hard" porn, just some soft stuff (topless women), but what ya gonna do? It's there, and like another poster said, just need to explain the diffrence between reality and fantasy. Beleive me, after he found out his mother knew what he was doing, he just kinda stopped on his own. That and his older sister calling him a perv...lol.

I think they are a little too old to trick with catfood.

Is she serious or is that all a joke?

Here's the real skinny on MY situation: I've got a wife and 3 stepkids. I live in Hawaii, one of the most expensive states to live in. Over the last 5 years since I've been married, our standard of living has raised tremendously. We're now able to afford 2 new-ish vehicles, a house, tutoring for my stepson(has learning issues) and 2...count them....2 college frickin tuitions. That's right, both my stepdaughters are already in college. Try putting twins through school if you want to feel some economic crunch in your pocketbook.

And this woman claims it's "either healthcare or food"? Is she smoking crack? If I, a high school graduate can afford to take care of a ready-made family, put 2 kids through college & STILL manage to contribute to my Roth IRA, TSP & savings while having heath coverage & food in the fridge....her family is doing something wrong.

News flash lady: GWB didn't stop you from furthering your education or looking for a better paying job. Maybe it should be internet vs. food, not healthcare vs. food. Left wing idiocy strikes again. Cry me a river sweetheart.

Even the Dry cat food.

You can buy a whole lot of potatoes and beans etc for the price of a bag of cat food.

Pet food ain't cheap. Our dog is on a super-premium kibble, our cat is on a veterinary diet kibble and super-premium, holistic canned food. DH and I frequently joke that the pets eat better food than we do!

We found that our food budget went up substantially when we started doing Dream Dinners. I love the convenience, but it's foolish to spend so much money on a food prep place. I got the cookbook and can do it at home for less money.

I understand her complaints and her unhappiness but how in the world is her inability to support her family George Bush's fault?

I guess it's easier to blame someone else for your problems rather than look inwardly.

Who stays at a job that you're not able to earn a raise at for four years?

You know, it's gotta suck when when you suck at your job.

Why would someone just stay at a job that they sucked at year after year after year?

I know, ask Barney Frank and EarlG, clearly they would have an answer for me.

DW just called and my "slightly" Diabetic cat needs a special diet. The food must be bought from the vet at $26.00 a bag. I'm thinking the bag is 40 pounds BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO, 5.5 lbs. Yep, almost $5.00 a lb.

You have a diabetic cat? Here's a tip: diabetes is a carbohydrate digestion disease. Your cat doesn't need to eat any carbohydrates at all - ever! Cats are pure carnivores. Feed kitty chicken wings, tripe, livers, tuna, raw eggs, and whatever scrap fat he or she will eat. No commercial treats, no non-meat human food.

I bet that in 4 weeks kitty isn't diabetic and your pet food bill drops like a rock.

I always laugh at the that cat food commercial showing the veggies, fruit, and grains for kitty. You can kill a cat by feeding it that stuff. They don't have the ability to process those types of foods. I'm sure the actual amount in the prepared food is minor but it sends the wrong message.

Your cat wants steak.

Your cat wants steak. This is a HUGE understatement if you knew him. He was 15 pounds of Puddy 1 month ago and now he is under 11. We started giving him commercial cat treats and I'm sure they're made of Crack. Since then is when he started dropping weight. I told DW that he needs meat but she didn't want the ensuing refridgerator battle. For now it looks like the Vet has won but I believe like you that he needs meat.

Afterall, one is either a Viking or a Bee Keeper. Vikings don't graze.

I actually am a Viking - genetically. Really, my cousin is a vet and he always tells people to feed cats meat and cut out the treats. She'll come around when she checks the prices. You can just dump a bunch of guts and meat or fish into the food processor and blend it along with an egg and the shell. It looks pretty much like expensive canned cat food when it comes out. :D
