‘House N****’: ESPN Fires Host After He Allegedly Used Racial Slurs, Threatened to Beat Up Co-Host During Drunken Meltdown
Aug. 14, 2013 8:00am Billy Hallowell

Hugh Douglas has confirmed his departure from ESPN. The former football player and host of “Numbers Never Lie” was fired following reports of an alleged confrontation with his co-host Michael Smith at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention and Career Fair in Orlando earlier this month, Variety reports.

Douglas was let go on Tuesday, following media claims that he had threatened to beat Smith up at the convention, purportedly calling him an “Uncle Tom” and a “House n****” during the incident. Initially, the network said that it would look into what unfolded and that inquiry has apparently now come to a close.

When former Detroit Mayor Coleman Young went to visit Jimmy Carter in the White House, Pres. Carter sent a black undersecretary to greet him and escort him up to the oval office. Coleman told the poor guy "I didn't come here to see the house n*$$#@, get me the man!".

Coleman never really liked Jimmy, he endorsed Ted Kennedy in the 1980 primaries.

Wait. I thought it was ok for the n-word to be used among black people themselves. Why was anyone fired?

A lot of my black coworkers and friends do not tolerate their children or anyone using that word in their house.
